Sure you created chances, because defensively they're ****ing awful with a fantastic keeper. But even if you'd have scored barring the first chance you'd have not changed the game imo, because they were always capable of cutting your ****ing awful back line to shreds, if they'd have needed to score again they would have. You're a dreadful side, the worst Liverpool side I can ever remember. The fact that you're clinging on to 'could a should a' after a 3-0 beasting at OT shows how desperate you all are for some crumb of comfort
Worst thing is, we have some talented players in the squad but Rodgers just doesn;t want to use them or use them correctly.
Pushing them away. Sterling can't shoot, but he is still a very good player in a crap team. He will be sitting on the bench at city next season I bet with big money.
Yep, he needs to improve in that respect but at least he got into those positions. We've rarely got into those positions with the likes of Mario and Lambert in the team.
What more could you have done today? With the options you had. You cant go imagining if you had messi or ronaldo in the team. From yiu options, what else could you have done.
Im not saying de gea will never concede again. Im asking what you had on offer today that suggested you would beat him. The answer is nothing. Better finisher? Name him. And like tobes said. We didnt break sweat. You gave your all though and got pasted. Its incredible how things have shifted so quickly.
That's not what people have been saying is it? People have argued with a decent striker playing today we would have scored - for example Studge. Its true with the options we had today that we couldn't score - and the game reflects this. De Gea is quality, but he is not invincible. We have scored against him before and will do again. In the 9 games he's started against us we've scored 10 from the following players: Gerrard x4 Agger x1 Kuyt x1 Suarez x2 Sturridge x2 Not Messi or Ronaldo are they!
He's making a right pigs ear of it currently. However, I think your squad is full of over priced mediocrity, that's the crux of your problems I'm afraid
The score line was a beating but the performance wasn't. I saw a sloppy Man Utd team get opened up through out the game. Man U created four decent chances, one was offside and the third should of never happened if Lovren gets a solid touch on it. Lets actually back the team instead of starting to agree with the rivals shall we?
I agree, but it is also true he's also not getting the best out of the mediocrity. He's getting 5 and 6/10 out of players capable of 7, occasionally 8.
The problem now is that there is no confidence anymore, so there is no recovery this season. Which to me, means new manager.
There is a lot of ****, granted. But when your playing terrible everybody goes down a rating or 2 when in reality we do actually have some good players that are ****ing dying to a) have a striker who can score goals on the pitch and b) have a DM to calm things down a bit.
Hum. God I swear the 4 odd years spent on here has been mostly negative and talking about crap performances and new managers. Why cant we be consistently good, spend wisely, and gradually make our way up the table? Its hard work following us!! I've been very negative towards Rodgers recently, but I hope he can turn it around I really do. You're right though confidence does look shot. Have the players lost confidence in him?
I doubt sturridge would have scored either. Sometimes a keeper just has one of those games. Today was one of them for de gea. He has quite a few these days tbh. Plus if you start saying if so and so was playing.... We have have more so and so's out. Like our defence. And 3 midfielders who completely transform us. It was nowhere near our best side that beat you today. 5 or 6 players short.
Things change so fast in football (us being a prime example)!! But look at Newcastle and West Ham, just getting rid isn't always the answer.... It might be, but it might not be and I would prefer to just stop the sacking talk and see where we are in May then talk about it then.
I doubted the lure that Rodgers brings when he signed, we miss out on the top quality every transfer window it seems like. There is no confidence in the squad now and I don't think we will turn that around anytime soon.
Maybe you're right. We need to regroup, move on and try and improve. Rodgers needs to get the basics right thought for this to happen. Have a consistent formation and first 11. Stop chopping and changing and give them a chance to play into some form rather than being worried about getting subbed as soon as they have a bad game/ bad moment. Binning them out the first 11 will just make them scared off taking any risks. Rodgers also needs to get his head down. I don't want to hear him mumbling about 'courage', 'intensity' and 'tremendous character' in press conferences. People have stopped buying it. Results need to do the talking
Agreed, if he's ****ing on talkshite for half hour tomorrow morning i'm really going to start getting the arseache.
