We've all discussed what formation and line up we'd like to see and Bri has quite rightly said that Gus doesnt look like tinkering with his system. BUT.....could emulating big sams formation help us turn these draws into wins?

I think Bri's point was that Poyets system in built on one dm who drops into a back 3 with the full backs moving forward. Well looking at how West Ham line up we could still do this and also have two centre forwards in a

Gomez is a strange one. Keeps the ball well and is capable of scoring or providing a killer ball but doesn't do enough of either

While I agree with you fella, I feel you could have strengthened your point. Allow me to strengthen your point further :p. One thing I noticed about West Ham and Big Sam when setting up the match thread, is that he sets his teams up based on who he has available to him and what he's expecting from his opponents. Something Gus Hasn't done since he put Connor on Bardsley in the Stoke game, but instead of realising it was a one off because we knew Bardsley's weakness, he's continued to deploy Conner out wide ever since, which simply hasn't worked with our lack of width forcing him too far wide every game. West Ham on the other hand have picked up 7 points in their last three games playing a different formation every single game.Making Gus and Sam complete polar opposites.

Not sure if I want Gus to become that adaptive but he really needs to start trying new things when things are obviously aren't working. I'm a big fan our system but I believe it can only work with pace and engine in the full back positions, PVA and Jones have the Pace to run flanks on their own. Vergini and Réveillère don't, meaning we lack width on both sides forcing our inside forwards to play like wingers, forcing them further out wide and and back down the pitch. This isolates our single striker as our inside forwards can't get close to them. We just don't have the available personnel to play our own system at the moment, and as such Gus should be tinkering. With the right players available I'd play Gus' system all day long. Rather Three upfront than two, but as stated at the moment our inside forwards can't play where they should be meaning our 'front three' is actually a front 1 with 5 midfielders. Come on Gus, Time to tinker.

3rd in our squad behind seb and AJ for Key passes and 83% passing accuracy. He's done ok fella, way better than any of our free agents signing from last season so he brings a hell of a lot more than some of our recent freebies. You were saying Jozy was right to start. Present anything which backs that view and I will be astounded.

Of course the lad has a high pass rate, all he ever does is pass it back or sideways. you f**ing tell me what the lad did yesterday apart from the pen? I will be astounded if you find anything.

Who did more against Chelsea & Man city. Altidore or Fletcher? if you say Fletcher you are smoking crack pal. Altidore give the team move work rate, move movement & we even loook like scoring with Altidore in the team.

Prove it then. Don't ask me to deliver proof when I've already asked you to. Show some manners or you won't get a football chat out of me. I'll repeat.

I'd like to see that team and formation against the scum to be honest mate, we've proved time and time again that we don't have the necessary players to play the lone striker.

So everything needs to be done by stat ****ing facts like fat boy. I don't give a **** if I get a footy chat out of you. anybody who knows anything about footy would say Altiodre did more against Chelsea & man city than what Fletcher did.

No width or pace in that team.

I would like to see, obviously when fit.

    .........pants........

    .....catts...larsson....
    AJ..Alvarez....Giac..
    ..........wickham........

Lots of pace and creativity but a solid spine.

He put two peaches across the six yard line in the first half that beat everyone and just needed a touch, as a creative player he can't do much more than put the ball in that area, it is up to the strikers to get there <ok>

He brings composure which can be vital. How many players in the first team have genuine composure? Not many at all. He's also got a cracking shot on him and could easily have scored against West Ham. He's slow but has a lot of quality and I reckon if we could surround him with fast players we'd be on to a winner.
