Yes but I doubt they know much about football either. At the end of the day, the last 15 mins against Basel and a hatfull of chances against Utd may well be considered a plus for Rodgers doing enough to keep his job.

Businessmen like FSG believe in vision. Rodgers can sell a vision with glint in his eye better than most, and especially better than a weary old general like Kenny.

BR's vision is looking more like a mirage with each passing week now. But it will take a convincing embarrassment to push FSG into an unhappy Christmas decision.

As the IncREDibles said, Dalglish was twice as unlucky throughout the season and they still ruthlessly fired him despite winning 1 cup and getting to the final of another.

I think you've hung on to one word rather than look at the point made. Probably not the best choice of words on my part. Point is, had you lost to Basel and then been completely outplayed today e.g. no shots on goal, few chances created, and a wave of media reporting both games as failures, then he would be closer to being sacked than he is considering how your performances in both games have been reported.

Judge someone on the post they make, rather than their name, that way makes no difference who they are <whistle>

Funny game really - personally, I don't think the scoreline reflects the match. The only difference between the two teams was that United took their chances (clinical strikers, and we didn't (poor finishing and excellent keeping).

Strangely enough, I took more positives out of this perfomance than the previous 4 months of mediocrity. Rodgers decided to go back to the exciting aggressive style which made us feared. And had Sterling took the first chance, the outcome could have been different.

For once, we saw pace, clever runs, throughballs, movement, pressing.

I know Sterling will get a lot of stick but again, he was our best player. And I've said it before - he may not be a striker but at least he contributed to the chances that were missed. We created so many great opportunities - granted, these weren't taken but I cannot remember the last time we attacked and showed improvement.

Midfield was practically non-existent. Allen was really poor but he showed a lot of effort. Henderson continues to slow down play and show his technical limitations. Not sure if Gerrard was on the pitch?

And the defence - if Rodgers want to continue with Skrtel and Lovren, then he deserves what he gets. The pair of them are a couple of clowns.

Certainly an unfair scoreline for the footy played, that second goal being given just before HT was a batard. How many chances though <doh>

Haha will pop over in a bit. <ok>

This game could easily have been 4-3 to us! It was a ridiculous game in terms of tactics and defending -but our attacks will brilliant bar the final ball/shot.

Seriously - I have been more wound up by the shocking performances we've seen recently than today.

In whar universe could it have been 4-3 to you?

We were pissing about in the end trying to get everyone on the score sheet. Had we been more ruthless it could have been far worse.

Which of your players was ever going to score past the wall that is david de gea?

And had we been more ruthless and clinical, then we would have won. Off the top of my head, Mario had 2 great chances, and Sterling had 2-3.

The chanc s we had it could of been 6-3. Poor finished ruined us.

If rodgers keeps the team like that we can only get better tbh. Balo looked real good when coming on too.

You're kidding yourself. They played most of that game in first gear, they backed off and allowed you possession for most of the 2nd half, choosing to play on the counter.

The only chance that could have taken the game in a different direction was Sterlings first one, before they scored. Once they went ahead there was only ever going to be one winner

Someone with a finish on them would have put all 3 of Sterling's chances away. Badon should have scored his too, De Gea had a good game but Sterling really screwed the pooch today on 3 chances, kicked them all straight at De Gea, either side of him with any of them and they were goals.

We're still s**t but yes we should have had 3 or 4 but... We'll Never Score... Again :D
