There's usually a degree if sarcasm when Scholes talks about City. I would imagine they're is in this too, not that I've seen or read what he said.

In a nutshell he said all the best kids will go to city now.

Didn't seem sarcastic but he is quite dry so maybe you're right.

Carrington will hardly have turned into The Cliff just because City are having a refurbished!

Weve spent about 40million doing it up. Van gaal says its the best hes ever worked at and the one that gives him the best scope to produce players.

Hes only workee with ajax, barcelona and bayern mind so what would he know eh? <laugh>

Citys is shiny though chief. Has a blue pitch to so they can perfect their diving in a more natural setting.

    Agreed.

The Champions league is such a big thing now (in terms of revenue and the quality of transfers you can attract) I think it's the number one priority. Beating Liverpool this afternoon would be a nice bonus, 0-3 at home last season hurt!

Pretty much summed it up there.

I think Neville and Scholes are being honest, albeit brutally honest, because they wouldn't have stood for this type of performance when they were still playing. They still hold Utd to the type of high standards SAF drilled into them for years, so can't help being critical of us when we've been so unconvincing this season. Same reason they don't criticise England - a decade of being getting used to England being utter ****e leaves them with pretty much nothing new to say.

Meulensteen and Phelan on the other hand are just bitter about being ditched by Moyes, and overlooked by LVG. Must be pretty galling for them to be squeezed out of the club as soon as SAF left, then have every man and his dog recognise how badly we missed them last season, and then still get overlooked when the club tries to fix Moyes' mess.
