What about them? Youre strugglimg to make any point city special. Scholes talks ****e. There is a reason he kept quiet all his career. Gallagher (whichever) also talks ****e.
And you'd have had that many play if you hadn't had a few injury problems? Playing them because you have no other option is a bit different to playing them because they are good enough to play. How did all these wonderful academy players do when they came up against MK Dons? "An academy's job is to produce players." Partly correct... it's actually to produce players to play for that team. As I said, what's the point in producing players if none of them are good enough for your first team? Why produce them at all if you're going to go and buy first team players from abroad? Yes, if you're a young player and want to make the grade it might be helpful for you, but good players with the right attitude will make it through in most clubs and in fact probably stand a better chance the lower down the ladder you are as you will get a chance of first team football on a more regular basis. How many Top level Prem players have come through your academy in the last 10 years? Yours doesn't have a patch on Southampton's academy
Just has to have the last word, doesn't he? Even if it's total bollocks, like all the words before it...
They cant. These remedial idiots have struggled through out this education. The spurs fan is my particular favourite.
Its always better to not get involved in something you know nothing about. Theres a reason i dont engage in discussions about brain surgery.
If it were HIAG making this comment I'd think it was a wum gone wrong, but you actually believe the **** you type
But for a 6 year battle with an illness that could easily have taken his life he would be on 4/500 appearances for united. As it is hes made 217 for united and highlights include being a major part of our success betweem 06 and 09. Welbeck, as good as he is, has a hell of a long way to go before we can discuss him as a better united product than Fletcher. Im glad you find that funny though. Its of no surprise coming from the guy who calls racism 'harmless terrace banter' and part of being a fan.
The subject of clubs bringing players through their academies, either to play for them or to be sold on to other clubs, was discussed on Sunday Supplement today. In a nutshell, the panel said they hoped City's new facilities would bring players into the first team but thought it unlikely and they commented that Chelsea are a club that doesn't believe in bringing players through the ranks. They also said that the best example of a successful academy system is Manchester United although in fairness I would say that's harsh on Southampton.
Saints are very good at it. Nobody would suggest otherwise but better than us? Theynhave produced better one off players in recent times. Notably Bale. Some may point to Walcott but hes not really much better than some of our better ones in recent years. If at all.
Im banned from your board you moron. How exactly am i supposed to find the quote? Oh and the fact you will have deleted it. Now was it Murray calling you on it or someone else?
The number of good to very good players Saints bring through is very impressive. Bale, Walcott, Ox-Chamberlain, Chambers, Shaw. It's a shame they have to sell them to other clubs. Ward-Prowse looks a good prospect. They've been doing it for years. Shearer, Le Tissier.
