A new low? - Depends how you look at it

For me, losing at home to Accrington Stanley looks like a new low point for Pompey's long history.

No offence to Stanley, but I'm old enough to remember that Milk advert!

But as for the season so far, let's put something into perspective.
When AA took over as caretaker and had that great run at the end of last season, (the Conference was beckoning, remember!) a lot of us, me included, were filled with a new spurt of confidence; "we'll go up next season on this form" or "We'll at least make the playoffs"

    BUMP!

So here we are after 20 games, in 14th place with 26 points [8 off the playoffs and 8 above the drop zone]

But compare that with this time last season: 20 games in; 18th place with 22 points [11 off the playoffs and 4 above the drop zone]

Progress then! Only a little bit, but then Rome wasn't built in a day. We're going to be in this division for longer than anticipated by the look of it, but as long as we creep upwards rather than downwards my glass will be half full rather than half empty.

You weren't there yesterday Dev. There is a lack of passion, cohesion and ideas.

LFiH is right in what he says Dev. We started poorly and were two nil down before we knew it.

We fought back to two apiece, and at that stage I thought there would be only one winner - PFC.

We seemed to go back into our shell in the second half, and they snatched the winner.

No sign of our new assistant manager at the game - has he quit already ?

Nah 3E, I'm just starting to feel a bit sorry for you lads, I mean your club is not even trying to challenge our supremacy as the top team in Hants, they just seem to have given up. You need to get a bit of fire in your bellies..:emoticon-0110-tongu

Waddock was sat up in the Gantry for the first half Wooperts - looks like he was getting an overall view of the game from there.

Looks like we're learning how long it takes to get a proper team together SA - the only ones with no fire in their bellies are the players themselves. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

We're out of debt now, so that at least is one thing we don't have to worry about
