Ok so hopefully we don't lose jose however, if we do i think Pardew has cleverly signed Marveux who can play at left back very well (from what ive seen he looks solid in defense) this may mean we don't need to sign someone as a replacement and this would free up funds for another winger/forward ? Only question is fitness and whether or not he'd cope with the physicality of league although he has already stated he has no fear of the "rough nature" of the pl and personally i still think if jose goes we can get fergerson to play and develop into a mighty fine left back (yes i know he's predominantly a winger but he is good left back material from what ive seen of him)
Ps sorry if someones already posted this been away for a while...

I think Fergy would make a fine full back too.

I dont think so, he said Marveaux would be competition for Jonas and Barton on the wings.

I'm not sure about Marveaux at left back, would prefer to have him on the wing and bring in an actual LB

Marveaux would be wasted at left-back mate, he's a top attacking midfielder.

didn't the zog use to be played there?

Marveaux does seem pretty decent at getting back...provided he stays fit i can see him being a very good player for us!

Agree, if we got screwed over with Enrique and lose him last minute, its nice to know we have an option.

Marveux seems like the intelligent sort of player, who if given a free role would end up in the right place at the right time.

    Got great confidence in him.

may as well get ashley playing at left back if thts the new left back diet would be pretty damn good with the amount of pies he eats

As last resort maybe, but would like to get Taylor in plus another left back if Enrique leaves.

I'd perfer that option to be Ferguson than Marveaux.

Possibly play Fergie LB and Marveaux LM, and have the two swap positions to cause problems and allow the other to push forward.

What, a Greggs sausage roll and packet of pork scratchings?

He may be tight with the cash, but I'm sure he can give himself that.

Perhaps, I dont think we're a million miles away from playing Jonas at LB (if Enrique left last minute without a replacement).
