90% of Lamberts career has been in league 2 and league 1. Plus he's coming to the end of his career and has 2 goals for us. Gerrard similar, has scored 2 goals from open play out of his last 20 I think (there or thereabouts). Balotelli was injured so doesn't count.
Yeah, maybe try Gerrard in a different position for a couple of games if he's going to figure, obviously he will start against Utd cos it's Stevie and it's Utd, bring Can in to do the current Gerrard / DM role, or Lucas I guess.
In my opinion Stevie has to play just behind the striker because its likely at some point the ball will bounce to him, or be laid off to him, and he's the only one in our team (who's fit) I have any faith putting the ball in the back of the net. We have to gamble that at least one chance will fall to him and I think it will. Even when we've lost their he tends to score.
Yes Gerrard up top for me I am looking forward to this match. I think their lucky run will come to a halt and we will get at least a draw. The important point is not to concede in the first 20 minutes. If we can achieve that I can see them getting more anxious as the game goes on. I can't see us getting beat as they are playing some real stinkers at the moment. We are not playing that great ourselves but they are worse than us.
And in my opinion if lfc don't score inside first 20 we will get hockied 25-45mins is lfc danger time. We seem to fall apRt as the half goes on

Aye its a blow. Rafael would be great if he could start but maybe a game too soon. He would bring that pace we lack now di maria is out of the game. Luckily liverpool play in reverse so hopefully we wont have too much of an issue. Most of their team make mata look like bolt!
