Do managers pick their starting eleven,based on how much they payed for them and how much they earn ? Iv'e often been troubled by this. At some point,all of you must have wondered why player A £8m,(under performing) always gets a start over player B, has been brilliant for the last couple of seasons, but only cost £300k and is on a comparatively low wage. I can understand the pressure a manager must feel to play his big money signings,the owners of the club which sanctioned the signing,and the big expectations of the supporters when a big money signing is made. But does it cloud a managers judgement when they watch two players competing for the same position ?
I'm assuming Livermore & Quinn, are your 2 players. Both can be great on their day, but how can SB seriously turn round to AA & say, you know what he's not as good as this one who cost very little, but a he can be but.... It's the age old problem, but SB has to say form.
Exactly, but i'd add Meyler to that equation as well,as he came up with some important goals for us, as well as showing some real desire to win. SB has to get over the fact, he payed millions for players that haven't worked out, and choose the players that have already proven themselves. He has to be honest, or we are ****ed mate. It's difficult for any manager to do that of course, Allam won't be happy, but Bruce has to be honest,and pick his best players.
Im confused! are we saying meyler and quinn are better than livermore? no chance! ...livermore is getting better everygame and his defence work is very physical, he could get forward more though! ...he creates alot of danger coming forward!
