Slower movement, slower thinking. So it doesnt worry you that a player been happy not to play for 4 years
How do you know he wouldn't be a good signing? Well if he's not good enough for Real he's certainly not going to be good enough for us is he? I suggest you and clivetime get your own boards, you'd still manage to argue with yourselves!
Well clearly now he does want to play. Anyway, we might as well wait to see wat does happen. Larry only said he was one of about 6 players we were seriously interested in. I'd be delighted with him, Smithies, Forster or Kuszcack.
How do you know he wouldn't be a good signing -------------------------------------------------- I don't but when a 38 year old player who hasnt played for four years, doesnt that set alarm bells off to you Well clearly now he does want to play. --------------------------------- Or wants a last pay day The other 3 will cost a fee and so we wont be after them
To tell you the truth I haven't really been following Dudek's career that well. Obviously you have and know how many games he's actually played. Again, you probably know his attitude to the game and the fact he's just a mercenary and looking for a final pay day. I don't suppose the possibility of a final couple of seasons playing for a sleeping giant of the English game could inspire him. I would have thought as a professional sportsman he would still have a desire for the game. But that's just my idealist way of thinking.
Great signing if you can pull it off lads Dudek's recent record 2005/6 Liverpool 6 Premiership appearances 2006/7 Liverpool 2 Premiership appearances 2007/8 Real Madrid 1 La Liga appearance 2008/9 Real Madrid 0 La Liga appearance 2009/10 Real Madrid 0 La Liga appearance 2010/11 Real Madrid 1 La Liga appearance So in the last 6 years he's made 10 league appearances - Grayson is fast becoming a laughing stock!!
Thanks for your input TC, all that for us Leeds United fans. How's the Rob Hulse chase going? Still makes you wonder, if he's so past it and finished why teams like Liverpool and Real Madrid have kept him on their books over these years? How many games has Given played in the last couple of years? Yet, I'm sure he'd be welcome in any starting line up!
He's 38, but he's a goalkeeper so it's irrelevant. Who's been the one of the most consistent keepers in the Premier League for the last 3 years? Van der Sar who's 41 now. If we did sign Dudek, I reckon he'd be more reliable than Kasper. If Real Madrid think that he was good enough for 2nd choice, then he's more than good enough for us. Anyway, there's no point complaining about us signing him, when we haven't signed him yet. And if we do sign him, then surely any player deserves at least 5 games before he's judged. I remember the start of last season, people complaining about Paul Connelly, but he turned out to be a reliable performer. Who has seen Dudek play recently? None of us. Yes he hasn't played for the last 4 seasons really, but there's no reason why he couldn't do a job for us.
I'm losing the freaking plot, it's been 4 days and we've had literally nothing. Not even a new contract for one of our top players!
I have to agree with SpanishWhite. Dudek might be able to do a job for 12 months but signing him would hardly smack of long-term ambition. I would much rather we signed up and coming players like Joe Lewis, who have yet to reach their potential.
http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/62092-Lonergan-to-leeds Its looking very likely to be Lonergan. Not an improvement IMO
thats rich coming from you!! if in doubt buy it..... Sven will be sacked by November...... you bought in a load of dross last year and quality prem players on loan where did you finish!!!!!! You the worst team in the Midlands ! who by the way cant fill their ground !
I would have taken him 3/4 years ago but not now, how is this moving forward??? Kasper was a brilliant keeper and wld hav got better. We cant afford Dudek anyway so it cant be true
Sour grapes perhaps?? did you not see some of the saves he pulled off last season, poor lad had a a shambles defence in front of him, he did have the occational hoo har but he int gona be perfect all of the time. Most keepers are in their prime towards their early 30's i.e James, Van Der Sar, Friedel. Maybe me saying he was briliant can be debated, but he was good at least
