Don't know why people are putting jela up front on his own, we have no strikers that can work in that sole striker role, the only way of making jela work on his own is to get wingers who are quick in other to link the play up with him! maybe aluko and elmo for instance: ----------------McGregor---------- Rosie----Chester-----Dawson----Robertson ----------------Huddlestone---------------- ---------Livermore---------Meyler--------- Elmohamady------------------------Aluko -------------------Jelavic---------------- I would go for the two up front and use the same pace down the wings! ------------------McGregor-------------- Rosie--------Chester------Dawson-----Robertson ------------Livermore-----Huddlestone----------- Elmo-------------------------------------Aluko ----------------Jela--------Hernandez----------- Chelsea like to counter attack, but if we set up likwe this, with pace on the flank, and 2 goalscorers to support, we will be able to go on the break with the likes of aluko & elmo down the flanks! ....i also feel Terry & Cahill are quite slow at tracking back and mentally will be feeling they're in for an easy afternoon!
Why on earth would you play Aluko on the left ahead of Brady? Robertson needs protection and he certainly isn't going to get any from Aluko. I think it will almost certainly be McGregor, Elmo, Chester, Dawson, Davies and Robertson at the back, with Jelavic and Hernandez up front, it's just the third man that joins Livermore and Huddlestone in midfield that I'm not sure about. I'd like Ben Arfa, Brady or Ramirez there to give us an attacking threat, but it's more likely to be Meyler or Quinn.
Terry and Cahill looked ****e against Newcastle last weekend. Real ****e. Someone to get the ball behind them, at speed and put in low balls, fast, across the box for Jela and Herna.
Steve Bruce says his message to his players at leaders Chelsea tomorrow is "enjoy yourselves" and "let's have a go". Let's hope so.
I think it's more likely to be Jelavic alongside someone like Ramirez, Aluko or even Quinn. Bruce seems to like the 3-5-1-1 lately.
I reckon we'll go: McGregor Elmo Chester Dawson Davies Robertson Livermore Huddlestone Quinn Hernandez Jelavic Jak Bruce Rosenior Brady Meyler Aluko Sagbo
To be fair to SB he's saying exactly the same in this press conference as he's always said. Standard football manager spiel - tough opposition, don't say anything to wind them up, etc. If fans now are finding certain phrases worthy of criticism purely because we're in the bottom 3 then they're being unfair.
Just had an email about entering Sky Super 6 and it says 98% of people are backing Chelsea and 96% are backing Man City away at Leicester. Can't blame them.
