Me i think Gary Lineker deserves something as well. He saved the club from going under, local boy and fan, 2nd top england goalscorer of all time and won the golden boot at a world cup. He was the given the family stand as the Lineker stand and then they sold the naming rights to Marks electrical

This is a great idea, ask anyone old enough to remember him and they put him in the top 3 City players of all time. Way too young to have seen him play myself but from the highlights I've seen it's obvious what a cracking player he was. In a period where England failed to qualify for 2 World Cups running I fail to see why he wasn't capped more times.

I think we should ring up Mohamed Al Fayed and ask him where he got the Jacko statue from first though.

i agree with what you are saying completely but at the same time Lineker is a club legend and always will be for what he has done for us as a club and for and great nation. but at the same time you could also say he was not at leicester in his prime so he never really made the effect of the likes of weller. thats why we have really tryed to get behind this idea. If im completely honest i can see in the future a statue of mr. leicester (birch) having a statue next to him. especially as they were so close and played at lcfc together

Lets build at statue of Keith Weller
And forget naming the stadium after King Power lets call it the Alan Birchenall stadium

It's not got quite the same ring to it as the Santiago Bernabeu has it? :)

When the Birch passes on (God forbid) I'm sure he will have a similar honour, as is rightly pointed out he is 'Mr. Leicester'.

Walshie would deserve something too tbf - played for us longer than Weller and Birch put together and gave us some of our greatest moments.

Sure we could find a photo of Birch & weller celebrating a goal and have the pair of them up there?

Although I agree with you on a statue for weller and birch ,but I think that their should also be a statue to Gordon Bank our world cup winning Goalkeeper...

Being extremely wrinkly with my hair the colour of John Major's suit, I did see Keith Weller play. Absolutely stylish footballer, and certainly one of the best I have seen in a Leicester shirt. Would applaud a section of the ground being named after him but not sure about a statue. I'm sure that people older than I would ask why not Arthur Chandler ? There have been many great players who have graced our team over the years. Some I have seen (from the early 60's) some I have not. To choose just one for a statue would be almost impossible. Even, why not Gillies or Bloomfield ?
