As long as they are not in the same league? Or do you only have eyes for Arsenal? I am from South East London so the choice is vast but I was taken to my first game at Highbury by my Dad at 9yrs old so my decision was cemented. I have kept an eye on palace for as long as I can remember and am happy for them to beat anyone except us.
Reading have been my local team for the last 10 years so I go to the odd game and follow their results, but I wouldn't say i support them. Im from South London and my dad also supports both Arsenal and Palace..
Yes, I think it's ok. I was born in Watford in the 1950s and grew up supporting them. However, many of the fans I knew went to matches in London when Watford were away up north somewhere. For some it was Chelsea or Spurs but for me it was Arsenal - I stood on the old North Bank many times at the tail end of the 60s/ beginning of the 70s - although I was first and foremost a Watford fan.
No. Only one team is in your soul. A second team can be liked, when you move to an area say but the key is if they meet (Cup for example) do you want one of them to win. Of course you will.
You always have a team that you have more affinity towards for whatever reason that is. I like other teams who play good football and have good ethics, but Arsenal are my favoured team.
I grew up in Lewisham and became obsessed with Arsenal when I used to go and visit my Gran and Grandad in Charlton, because their next door neighbour's grandson lived in one of the houses in Plumstead where the remains of the the invicta ground still stand today. I used to go to his house and see the old terracing at the back of his garden and that was like magic to a eight year old boy. Growing up I used to go to watch Arsenal at home almost religiously from 1984 up until around 1994 and when money allowed I'd follow Arsenal away to places like Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Norwich, Ipswich, Birmingham and down to the south coast for Southampton. Plenty of away games in London too at Chartlon, Palace (they used to share), Chelsea, Millwall, Spurs, Wimbledon, QPR, West Ham and Luton was sort of London being a short hop on the train. Anyway, the point of mentioning all of this was that living in London, I also used to go with my mates to watch their teams play when Arsenal were away and I couldn't afford to go. So I'd often visit Upton Park, Selhurst Park, The Den and be considered a West Ham, Charlton or Millwall fan for the day. I never supported those teams myself, but I would be there signing with their home fans, so whilst I've never supported another team. I have technically been a supporter.
