A bit of fun....

?

Who next for Liverpool manager?

  1. Carragher (minus the Sky commitments)

  2. Rafa

  3. Rafa & Carra

  4. Jurgen Klopp

  5. Jose Mourinho (he's already getting bored)

  6. Xabi Alonso as player manager (last time we had one of them wasn't so bad!)

  7. King Kenny (Not me, the real one)

  8. Guus Hiddink (it's not going so well in Orange!)

  9. Stevie G as player manager

  10. Brendan Rodgers after we sack him and he wins his first 5 matches in charge of an average Welsh team

  11. The entire transfer committee: You try working with this s**t

  12. Jürgen Klinsmann - FSG have always wanted a yank in charge anyway...close enough!

out of those 4 choices jimmy made, i wouldn't mind seeing De boer to be honest, reckon he could help attract some talent here.

Simeone looks like too much of a nutcase, havent we had enough of them lol, and i doubt Klopp would be a realistic option and Capello too old.

I can't see us attracting Klopp.

Rafa is realistically the best manager who would consider coming to us.

But going back is always risky and usually doesn't work out as well.

So, with that in mind, I think Hiddink who would take a punt on us with transfer guarantees.

    No not necessarily.

The pony squad, lack of champions league and poor performances of late would probably put off most top managers.

Its one big job to sort out.

I've said it elsewhere if the wages are right they will come... Bayern won't be looking for another 18 months when guardiola leave bayern after ruining them and he will then go to utd and ruin them too

Koop has no place else to go then really. Real have zidane in waiting at next head man and Barca are up for puyol next so all in all

Bar city and Chelsea who have managers there's not many places for klopp to go to from Dortmund unless he goes east for money

Klopp would be attainable I feel - struggling at Dortmund so his departure would be expected. I do feel Arsenal could swoop in though.

Simeone would be a very solid option who would create a disciplined and organised side, with more passion. Said to be looking to leave at the end of the season and is learning English. Which English side could he go to? ...

De Boer would be exciting and has done a very good job at Ajax.

All in all, these are young, dynamic managers - we tried to do it with Rodgers and it looks to have failed but it's certainly the route we should go down.

If not - Capello is looking for a way out of Russia and not many people can argue with his record.

Haha. Its a much harder job to take on than Everton I would say.

I could be the Everton manager I reckon.

Have no real aspirations, pressure off, and finish in the upper half of the mid-table from time to time.

  15. What if we offered them a big transfer pot to sort it? Any manager would love to have putting Liverpool back on the map on their CV

To be honest, I don't think things are that bad. Yes, performances have been bad and the shortcomings of certain players are well known. That said, I think there's a decent basis to work with, especially when you consider that without doing anything, Sturridge will be back in January and Origi will come in the summer, two players who could improve our attack no end. (Hell, even just not ignoring Borini could improve it a bit.) No, we don't have Champions League now, but any manager that we should be interested in should have an ego that says that they think that they could get this squad (which has still only lost one player from the squad that finished second last year, albeit an important player) into the Champions League. One of the reasons we're annyoed with Rodgers is that he's not getting the perfromances out of the players that he did last season. That should be an expectation for a new manager. We're also still a famous name and offer a decent (if not astronomical) amount of money to work with. And we're in the Premier League, which is still the most glamorous league.

I don't know if they would mate.

I think we value the club a lot higher than most do abroad.

Transfer pot is one thing but you have to spend on wages to really get players and that goes against FSG's philosophy.

Couple with the fact we have already spent loads which an outsider could wager that the pot has already been emptied, then who knows.

This is a crucial point. Transfers fees aren't the problem - it's the wages. It's why we simply cannot afford to buy players like Di Maria and Falcao.
