I'm expecting something like: Vorm; Walker, Dier, Kaboul, Rose; Stambouli, Dembele; Lamela, Paulinho, Chadli; Soldado
Will be awesome to see Onomah get some game time, massively excited about the lad's potential. Can see us starting: Vorm, Walker, Vlad, Kaboul, Rose Stambouli, Paulinho Lamela, Dembele, Chadli Soldado Hopefully Onomah and Winks will get some minutes around 65/70. We're through so I wouldn't say the result is overly important although a win would be great as it seals top position.
According to Wiki "In the draw for the round of 32, the twelve group winners and the four third-placed teams from the Champions League group stage with the better group records will be seeded, and the twelve group runners-up and the other four third-placed teams from the Champions League group stage will be unseeded. The seeded teams will be drawn against the unseeded teams, with the seeded teams hosting the second leg. Teams from the same group or the same association cannot be drawn against each other." Zenit are in the best four so if we win the group we can't draw them
I just hope that Lamela's not playing on the right. The left, in behind the striker, actually as one of the strikers, bloody left-back, whatever...
Quite looking forward to a right side with walker and Townsend, even with Townsend constantly cutting inside he should at least have walker giving him and option....if he decides not to shoot that is.
I'm hoping that this is a 4-4-1-1 with Townsend on the left, Chadli on the right and Paulinho playing in behind Soldado, but it won't be. I have no problem with Townsend playing on the right, as long as he's got an overlapping fullback and a left footer on the opposite wing. That's never the case, though. It would be nice to see Paulinho in a more advanced role than he has been recently. I hope it's not a three in midfield with him, Dembele and Stambouli. Utterly isolated striker and players not knowing what they're supposed to be doing, resulting in a mess.
Nice to see the ITV pundits talking up the use of youth players by both us and Everton, too. We've not produced anything like enough players in recent years, so it's great to have a group doing well together now.
Love ferdinand chatting his usual ****e about spurs fans... Claiming that last season we turned on harry kane after 10 mins of matches by chanting soldados name...but now we are calling kane one of our own...implying we are hypocrites. He and sherwood are such sad embittered twats...why dint he just let it go?
He was generally positive, but that comment was quite strange. Kane had about three different chants before he'd had anything even resembling a run in the side. Soldado got support from the fans, sure, but not at Kane's expense. You'll always get some disagreement about players from crowds, but to claim that our youngsters aren't well supported is just demonstrably wrong.
Tell you what, Ferdinand was spot on regarding Dembele there. "He takes players out of the game, but then lets them straight back in again."
