    You've just reminded me what I was going to look out for when I was going to sift through a wealth of academy photos I have from around 2002 to 2006. It was to identify all the players who passed trough Saints who aren't Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and OXO.

    Not sure how they get away with calling that a cover! Looks more like very bad miming to me, especially Harry's bit at the end. Still, they all had a good laugh, apart from Joey Barton anyway.

    I agree with that...may not always be possible, but surely PL clubs could be generous. Not like they employ thousands of people across the UK.

    And Hearts, in the Scottish League, were first and they're not flush.

    So before anyone thinks, well Chelsea can afford it, it's not about not being able to afford it. It's about doing the right thing.

    I'm not so sure about that. I suspect Mourinho or Van Gaal would also have been charged. It's about degree, after all. Also, the footballing authorities have been leaning on professional discipline in the last few years. Anything that comes to light gets punished.

    Pearson isn't apologetic, and if past insults thrown at professionals by supporters is anything to go by, I suspect the supporter who verbally abused him got what he deserved in return. I can't say I condone what Pearson did, but I have every sympathy.
