I'd agree, it's fine to show support for Bruce, but actually presenting it to him seems a bit over the top and rather unnecessary, I'd just concentrate on where it goes, how it goes there and where it's hung.
The suggestion about presenting the flag to Steve Bruce wasn't for his benefit. It was made to give up to 15 young people a day they'd never forget. They'd tell their family, friends, neighbours about the experience for weeks afterwards. Then there would be the media publicity. All that for £600 and a bit of the club's time. Not forgetting our donations that bought the flag in the first place.
To add to the considerations; due to the good connections of a City fan getting us a good price for the banner (Cheers bud and BarmyFlags) and with some money possibly due in from some that said they'd like to donate, and of course, the generosity of Hull City fans, we've still some money left in the pot. I'll post a robust figure once the dust has settled. Any thoughts on what to do with it?
I know, maybe we could call a press conference and bring all the media giants in, Sky sports, ESPN, BBC sport etc and unveil it to them. I bet they'd love a big piece of news about Hull City flans making a flag.
Pfft, you're just so small time. That'd be such an anti-climax after it's already had a mention on sports talk.
There's the end to the argument. It is to be presented by flans, and all those who donated are allowed a nice slice of flan. It's perfect. Egg and bacon flan.
Has the 'head steward' been informed of this flag doing the rounds around the stands? wouldn't want some jobs worth moran trying to confiscate the flag as it makes it way around. Pretty sure you clever chaps have already thought of this.
The club are more than aware of the flag and that options on how it is to be displayed are being discussed, and they'll obviously have the final say on any suggestions once we have a consensus on here.
It'd have to be a local provider, then we could use it to encourage the creation of the much talked about flan park.
There's still donations coming in, which is great. The general view seems to be to put the surplus towards helping others. Suggestions include a donation to help John Davies with some of his work. Or Curtis Davies with his charity. Others include looking to see if we could fund people to attend a game at the KC that otherwise may not be able to. We could perhaps do bits for each? Maybe include something to do with the banner?
