Hypothetical obviously ... but with Sami in England at Brighton and not having a great time of it, would you take a punt on him and get rid of Brendan ? 6 month contract then 12 month rolling contract id give it a shot. He did well with Leverkeusen. Knows how to organise a defense and has a relationship with the club. All hail Sami the Saviour. I gtg back to work will check back later to see peoples opinions
Since when do we take managers who are not having a great time in the Championship. He was sacked by Leverkusen last season for doing a bad job. He's not ready.
unsure on manager to be honest, but wouldn't think twice about having him as our defensive coach, if he would even consider it.
1 win in 17 league games and in the relegation zone, of a well resourced club in the Championship. Sounds ideal Sami in!
No no no no no. He may be one for the future if he proves himself at Brighton and turns them around, or at another club. But right now this would only end up in disaster. The idea of him becoming manager is borne out of the worst kind of nostalgia and sentimentality. Can't believe nobody's called for Kenny to be brought back yet!
Brighton aren't well resourced have have sold their best players in the last 3 transfer windows. Things aren't going well for them and no way he has event the chance to move to us yet but as a number 2 or coach would bite your hand off. Unfortunately, can't see him being at brighton as manager much longer so just depends whether he can find another club to manage or if he's happy to go into a more coaching role
This. Maybe as an assistant coach. His first season at Leverkusen was pretty decent, but he was co-coach with someone else. Second season, when he was the only coach, they started off well then lost form. This is nothung unusual for Leverkusen though.
I feel its like tony adams... guys seem to think they can walk into a manager job. I think sami would have been better going as a coach under a senior guy after leverkusen. now i think he may never get another manager job.
As much as I'd love to say yes, his record (as of now) isn't great. What we need is someone Scottish How's Moyes getting on? #kidding
He did. We started as player, then player coach, then joint manager with one other guy then was made the sole manager.
