    Evening Newcastle fans!

I wondering where you expect to finish next season?

Looking back on it you guys had an excellent season last year considering if was your first year back up and you had to deal with managerial changes. I'm surprised you did not recieve more accolades to be honest.

Add to that you also made a killing out of a player who I will refrain from mentioning (and still did well without a replacement).

With the likes of Tiote, and one or two players, I can see you pushing on and displacing the likes of Villa, Everton and Fulham, who in my opinion are either stalling or have reached their full potential.

    Any thoughts/predictions?

If we retain key players and our signings are effective, I don't think 8th would be unrealistic to aim for

In reality I think we will finish 9th or 10th.

Made some exciting additions to the squad, definately more pace and creativity in the team with the signings we've made, if we can get another striker, winger and centre back hopefully we'll be capable of finishing top 10 and going on a good cup run.

We'll be challenging for 7th place I think, whether we'll finish 7th will be all part of the fun!

Next season i imagine the top 10 will be something like this:

    1: Chelsea
    2: Man City
    3: Man United
    4: Liverpool
    5: Arsenal
    6: Tottenham
    7: Everton
    8: Newcastle
    9: Villa
    10: Fulham/ Sunderland

All with current teams - eg: if Arsenal sort out their goalie and defence and get Gervinho/ keep Van Persie then they'll be 4th..

Yer I would agree with that. There are a lot of teams who seem a little fragile/lacking momentum.

    Fulham
    Sunderland
    Villa
    Everton

All those you can pass. Villa are sinking.

I think you could be in for a good season. God knows where we will finish.

We will reach christmas with a record amount of points and goals.
Officials will come to conclusion that we are too good for The Premier League and create a new competition up in the heavens.

    I'd settle for 7th ;)

I think the derby will be massive next year. I do feel when push comes to shove you will beat Sunderland, like Everton for us.

lol I think around there you will finish. That beast Tioti will be important. Not sure why you got rid of Nolan though.

Top 6 is unpenatrable at the moment, there's a massive gap between them and the rest of the teams. So I suppose we should battle it out for seventh. Villa dont seem to be making much progress and I don't rate McLeish, Fulham have got a decent manager in Jol but a fairly average squad, and Everton are good but never spend anything in the transfer market.

I would say 7th would be brilliant, kind of winning a 'mini league' outside the top 6.

I think i might put a cheaky bet on City. Quietly getting on with their business. My prediction would be:

    1. City
    2. Chelsea
    3. M
    4. Arsenal
    5. Liverpool
    6. Spurs
    7. Newcastle
    8. Everton
    9. Sunderland
    10. Don't care.

Currently, I'd say mid-table. I think people sometimes forget we've lost our two top goalscorers, and even though they've been replaced, I think it's far from guaranteed they'll replicate what was done by Nolan and Carroll. If we get a decent striker and another winger/CM that can score goals then I think a push for top 10 would be realistic

I'd expect to be knocking on Everton's door. If you bring together our best players, they probably beat us with defensive quality, but we could end up with a far superior strikeforce, depending on who else we sign.

It's players like Krul, Coloccini, Enrique (if he stays), Barton, Cabaye, Tiote, Ben Arfa and Ba who will really charge us forward if they stay injury-free and live up to expectations. All really class players, and many of them wouldn't look out of place in a top 4/5 side.

This, except a fully fit & on form Saha is better than any of our strikers(probably even Ba). IMO

    08-09 - 6 goals in 24 apps
    09-10 - 13 goals in 33 apps
    10-11 - 7 goals in 22 apps

His best days (at the likes of Fulham) are well over. He's very much a 1 in 3 striker now, and sometimes less. Still pretty good, but far from a major threat.

I'd agree but only just. Luckily Saha hasn't been fully fit since he played for Fulham :)

EDIT: Bugger you Chappaz you beat me to it and with stats .... lol
