Probably because nobody is expecting anything from it really.

Speaking personally anyway, this doesn't even feel like an important game. Feels like another game we're going to be **** in and lose.

100 pounds doesn't get you much of a player though...

All anyone has done is whine on.

We're terrible this year, yes. But we've been ****ing banging on about 'top 4' for 5 years - surely just enjoy the ride, I know I will be.

I could see us getting a result somehow. Don't think anyone's expecting a performance though.

Yeah that's more what I meant. Phrased it badly.

Either way, I'd like to see more of the new boys play tonight. Can, Markovic, Manq and Moreno.

Apparently 17 year old Ojo will be on the bench. A right pace machine

Sweet, always nice to see young players in the squad.

Take old knackered Gerrard off after 60 mins and give the lad a run out. Never going to happen is it. Haha

According to the thread from DR, he's just played for the U19s. Busy day for him if he's on the bench tonight as well.

EDIT: He got booked for a dive apparently. <ok>

I would love for Rodgers to do it more often - but he won't as he thinks the seniors are still world class.

And even if he does play the youngsters, he'll only drop them after a good performance.

ok i will twist that just for a bit of fun lol.

what if we manage to qualify somehow and the youngsters help us get there, how many on here will want to stick with them going into the latter stages of cl or hope we do business in jan? ie youngsters dont get a look in then do they.

"Expect" in the sense of that's the standards every Liverpool team should set themselves, or "expect" in the sense that you really think you'll see one? If the latter, then I admire your optimism, but where's it coming from? I'd love to be proven wrong though.

I personally believe that the youngsters i.e Moreno, Manquillio, Can and Markovic are better than the players who are starting. It's only Markovic who has yet to put in a decent performance but I do think he's far more useful than Lambert. I think a 1 legged rocking horse is more useful than Lambert.

Moreno and Manquillo are better than Johnson, Flanno and Enrique.

Can is better than most of the midfield, even at 50% fitness.

Markovic is better than Lambert (yet to show it though).

Not to mention the likes of henderson, Sterling and coutinho. I think we need to get all of these players playing together ASAP so they can develop that relationship and play for many years.

But more importantly, we need to play in a system which is suited for them.

  16. Just looking at it from Basel's perspective. They only need a point so can play for the draw. Usually I would say this is dangerous territory so they should go for the win. However, parking the bus against us petty much guarantees that required point as we can't create ****! Hope the Basel manager forgot to scout us <laugh>

I'm confident though and can't wait for the game to start. Just hope Brod gives us a chance with his line up!

As they need a draw I think they will sit back and play counter which could be very dangerous.

Yeah, surely that will be the Basle gameplan. We can't afford to concede first. That would make it very difficult indeed.

I have a suspicion that Enrique, Johnson and Lovren start tonight.
