Just hoping we can have a solid, none shambolic game tonight. Not bothered about us playing them off the park, killing them through tempo and possession Rodgers bumf or scoring double figures. Would really really like to see our defence defend with confidence, our midfield create and control, and our strikers strike with potency and accuracy. Just do your jobs people, do your fecking jobs.

It won't slip into place like last season when he just realised you stick Sterling in behind Suarez and Sturridge and the games win themselves. Would be nice if in one game it just clicks and there's that lightbulb tactical moment where everyone just goes, that's the one. Can't see it though.

We should go back in for Shaqiri and a striker as priority imo.

To be fair to the owners, I wouldn't trust Rodgers with a penny in the transfer market.

Well, Rodgers wanted Lallana instead of a top class attacker.

And he wanted a 'leader' in Lovren.

We need to strengthen in a number of areas - that's how bad we are. In fact, we were poor last season. The deficiciences were simply masked by SAS, Sterling, Coutinho - with Hendo and Allen in supporting roles. Everyone deeper than them were shocking.

We need a keeper and DM - personally, these two areas will provide the defence with a lot more confidence and even Lovren can look good.

Kevin Trapp (GK from German) is one of the best young keepers in the world and his release clause is £4m. We have to be on that.

We then need William Carvalho - a cracking DM but he will cost a bit.

So who do we sell? Borini, Mario, Lucas, Johnson. Get rid of high earners.

Owners probably want to see what Rodgers has got in his locker now tactically and in his man-management. No more money because he's shown ineptitude so far whenever he's had it to spend. If he can start to get results with what he's got in the new year then he will buy a bit of confidence back so expect to see him stay and be given another few briefcases full in summer.

How much is Balotelli worth now, a packet of Haribo Tangfastic??

Would you really sell Lucas? I know you want to bring in a DM, but if they get injured or suspended that leaves us even lighter in that area.

Lucas was great before that bad injury, I see no reason to let him go he just needs games and he'll soon be performing at a high level again. He's very important for us at the moment.

i think he is certainly improving with games... where that goes.... i don't know. he is not at the level of top 4.

however i've some news "Get rid of high earners" this doesn't work... not one iota.

    GET RID OF UNDERPERFORMERS.

JOHNSON (CAN'T RUNBACK/WON'T RUN BACK), skertl, gerrard, balotelli, borini, markovic has questions about him... coutinho seems disinterested.... lovern or sahko? mingolet..

the reality is non are actually really good enough for what i'd like

"We arrive into tomorrow night with great confidence that we can get the job done."

Said Rodgers in his press conference. Wish I shared his confidence.

Come on Redmen for ****'s sake <ok>

The high earners are the underperformers - Skrtel and Johnson in particular.

Lucas is the not the solution. Just with Toure, they are short term options who look good because they're replacing absolute dross. There is a reason why Lucas was dropped in the first place - he's simply not good enough. He's looked good because in the last few games, we've played against poor opposition.

That's not to say he shouldn't be playing - he's the best of a bad bunch as is Toure.

We are not going to progress if we persist with the same seniors who were present in some of the worst performing sides of this club's history (Skrtel, Johnson and we should offload Enrique and let Gerrard retire on someone else's pitch).

And I know this is harsh on Toure and Lucas - I don't mean to be because they have come in and done a job. But that's not a compliment to them - that is an indictment on the players they replaced.

Granted. But I'd still rather only sell once we've got two (not one) better players for that position.
