Morning all, rather grey and damp here, but slightly warmer. Have to hit the road again as Mme"s French driving license is finally ready for collection. She applied on 13th February and having jumped through all the hoops now has to go to Poitiers to pick it up. After all this time she has 14 days to get her hands on it or it will be despatched to the bin. Her old UK one expired in May and she has been driving around with a piece of paper to say she has applied. It depends where you live when it comes to official documents. Someone I know has been trying to join the health system for two years and seems to be getting nowhere.

Or even the Spanish way where they need many different permits and documents that obtaining all the papers is a full time work.
Join the club. So to speak. We used to have great cup runs 10ish years ago, playing at this level graced a couple of semi-finals and had many a run. All gone now with terrible draws in recent years. Man City have knocked us out early in the FA Cup two seasons running. Now Chelski. Good money, and good to "concentrate on the league" , but not good for general spirits. You'll be fine against Preston. Yes, they are flying, but they are concentrating on going up, not the cup.
When you get a draw like ours you have to just hope the players give it everything, come away with pride more or less in tact and enjoy the experience so much that they're hungry for it on a regular basis. We'll have to wait and see...

Thursday is snow at -6C and saturday -10C with snow. Some earthquakes at Mývatn this morning but not as many as Holuhraun and Vatnajökull.
Morning all, we have the first frost of this winter overnight and the sun is shining brightly to give a sparkle to the fields and hedgerows. Looks as if I will need a few minutes to clear it off the car before setting off for my French lesson.
Talking of cup runs, in the 80s under GT (and others) we had one of the best (if not the best) consistent records in the FA Cup of any club. 82 - 5th round 83 - 5th round 84 - Final 85 - 5th Round 86 - 6th Round 87 - Semi-final 88 - 6th Round 89 - 5th Round ....then in 90 we lost to Shrewsbury at Gay Meadow 4-1 in the 3rd Round, things haven't been quite the same since.....
