That guy was an idiot, something about Nolan and 5 years being wrong.

What a spanner this bloke is. I wish people would stop getting all uptight about the £35m. There's still 2 months of the window left and managers will be unlikely to sell players until later on anyway

He said Nolan was at the peak of his career. Nolan was at his physical peak about 4 or 5 years ago, I'd put money on him not even being in the West Ham team in 5 years.

Pardew "I will give someone the number 9 shirt" (didnt specify if it would be this season or not).

I'm hppy to have Pardew as a manager at this moment in time. I trust him and in what he says.
Good luck to the guy, hope this season gets off to a great start.

He'll replace him in the starting XI, but totally different player and I doubt he'll be captain.

Think Pardew just said he doesnt want to change the back 4.

More than a replacement! A quite large improvement, judging by what's being said about him. Also, he's still to hit his prime, whilst Nolan's past his!

If he is still playing he'll probably just stand on the edge of the opposition box throughout the whole match, hoping the ball drops directly to his feet which will be barely able to move his body at all any more.

I think he'll either retire a few years into that contract, he should be at his physical peak now and can barely last 90 minutes.

Yes, in that if he'd looked after himself physically he could be an England regular (or would have been for a few years anyway).
