Anyone know when he will be back. I was looking forward to seeing him this season. Hopefully Alvarez can get a couple of starts as well see if these two can bring us some creativity when they are both fir
He was fit last weekend. Think he may get a little run out this weekend prior to being unleashed onto our great unwashed cousins from up the road.
I wish Gus would try ---Catts----Larsson AJ----Giacch----Ricky -------Fletch In games where we want to be more attacking, in particular. Struggle to see Giacch in our 4-3-3 but I suppose competition for places is good
Most recent reference I could find Sunderland delay returns of Billy Jones and Emanuele Giaccherini from injury Nov 28, 2014 08:30 Sunderland have postponed Billy Jones and Emanuele Giaccherini’s comebacks to minimise their chances of a relapse. Defender Jones has been out of action since October with a hamstring problem, while midfielder Giaccherini has been missing since September with an ankle injury. Black Cats boss Gus Poyet had originally planned to involve the pair in training this week, but has instead decided to let them continue working with fitness coach Antonio Pintus. And, with Sunderland changing their training regime next week to accommodate games against Chelsea tomorrow followed by a midweek match against Manchester City and then a trip to Liverpool the following Saturday, Jones and Giaccherini will continue to work away from the main group. However they are expected to resume full training a week on Monday, following that game at Anfield. “The training will be very different next week - very light, although a little bit more for the ones that don’t play,” said Poyet. “They wouldn’t be coming into a group to train properly, so we thought let’s kill them! Run, run, run. “So after Liverpool, it will be an easier week for them to join in. “The problem has been with the three games next week. So back in training today then. Could make the bench at the weekend and ready to start playing a part from then on. Fingers crossed
I had in my dream team squad last week - thought he was back and ready to play - also it's probably the reason why I'm crap at fantasy footie
He will be the key to our season. He is our most creative player and was partly responsibly for Whickhams goals at the end of last season. He must play when fit. Strongest 11: Pants Rev Jos Brown PVA Larsson Catts Rodwell Johnson Wickham Giacc Will we see it this season? Who knows but the thought of PVA bombing on with Giacc tucked in in a bit of a free role is mouth watering.
Todays news BILLY JONES and Emanuele Giaccherini are pencilled in to return in the Tyne-Wear derby, rather than being risked in this weekend’s visit of West Ham. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...-pair-to-return-for-newcastle-derby-1-6994721
We need our more creative players after Xmas when the fixture list gets a bit kinder and wins begin to look more do-able this will be better achieved with the likes of Giacca, PVA and Jones fit. Bringing them back too soon would be a big mistake and could end in disaster.
