Sir N Gibbs is coming home! Just sayin'.. whoop whoop!! http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp..._his_decision_to_add_Gibbs_to_coaching_staff/
After the run of results Wolves are in currently, would Lord Jackett be amenable to a coaching return as well?
I think I remember seeing Gibbs playing. Good experience at reading, I wonder if SJ has any unknown health problems... On another related point, what happened to Garcia's backroom two that he bought in with him? Are they still at the club? Assistant coaches Ruben Martinez and Javier Pereira but can't find much else on them...
And Lord Nigel of Gibbs is to add to their number? Something's got to gibb... give. I haven't seen an article yet that says it for certain, only the Wobby one, but that doesn't seem to state anything too concrete to me. Where is the reaction from NG?
Oh no he's not. He's going to Milwall. Probably knows he has a good chance of taking over as manager from Hollow Head. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...rejects_Watford_return_in_favour_of_Millwall/
Yes, Hornette. Why? I find this the most worrying piece of news for ages. What did he not like about the setup? He's only going to be First Team Coach with the Lions as opposed to what, Assistant Manager, here? Don't understand and am pretty concerned. Presumably he's been talking to Lord Jackett about Millwall, too? Very strange.
As I said before, he's not even their No 2, Bloother! You'd expect the Assistant Manager to get the nod before the First Team Coach, wouldn't you?
i agree, this is a little worrying, as it was all but a done deal by all accounts. What made him change his mind? i suppose it could be money, i hope that's all it is. Meanwhile, i suppose it's reassuring to know that they still want an English experienced person on board, but who will they get? Hmm...
Yes, fair point. I think I'll cling to the hope it is a money thing. Yes, actually, I've decided that's definitely what it was. Phew! Now I feel better. (If I talk like this I can convince myself quite well and the world can keep turning and all's well that ends well)
It looks like it wasn't 'Assistant Manager' here, but 'Assistant Coach', where he would have been one of 3/4. Not sure how an Assistant Coach differs from an First Team coach, but maybe he felt he wouldn't have had as much influence here and Millwall would have been better for an ultimate goal of becoming a manager. Maybe he thought he could learn more from Holloway that Jokanovic, maybe he didn't like our set up and the influence of the owners (where the coaching team has little influence over transfer policy). Maybe he saw what happened with McKinlay and didn't liek his treatment... Or maybe it was simply down to money! I guess we can only speculate but it's a shame he didn't come 'home'. I'm sure the Pozzos have a back up plan for a British coach... so will be interesting to see who's next on the list
He's now at Real Sociedad with David Moyes, maybe he knew or told the managers that the chance could come up. I don't think they fired him after a week.
