clear intent from a promoted side, people still think wel be anywhere near the top 6? that isnt a dig at our club either, just saying..
How are they throwing around £2.5m plus add ons to sign cms? They must have offered him the best salary package to outbid Leicester etc?
Cool, on an iPhone in sunlight, nigh on impossible to read. That's a lot of cash for a newly promoted side to spend on one player.
To be fair to him , he could easy of signed for Leicester on more cash probably. He maybe used his head and thought about time on the pitch rather than cash in the pocket. He'll play more football at Brighton than he would of at Leicester, Brighton are a club on the up like us a few years back. I have my doubts about him in this league, he'll score goals but no way as many as last season.
I had noticed it had gone a bit off track, it's one of the reasons I merged this one, we'd effectively ended up with three CMS threads. We're not the only board discussing it either, this one will probably be the mast watched transfers in the Championship next season. I don't think he's worth that much, he scored 10 last time he was in the Championship and has yet to really prove himself at this level. If Danny Graham is worth £3.5m, then CMS is probably worth £1-1.5m and unfortunately, Mclean is probably worth about £300k.
MASSIVE mistake NP signing McLean. At the time I thought "Wot the F**k"!! The problem now is NP's ego. How can you drop a £1.3m player and keep the respect of the owner? Answer: You don't!! If you drop him, it's your fault. If you keep him in your side and don't succeed, you can always blame it on something else!
He did drop him though, towards the end of the season we were starting with Fryatt and Simpson, or do you mean drop him from the squad completely?
I was amazed to start with but then if you were offered the chance to play with Sven and live around Leicester or join Poyet and live near Brighton which would you choose? Brighton also play good passing football as CMS will ahve seen first hand last year. Brighton have sold 19000 season tickets. They have a stadium as good (if not better) than ours. Until we shift the highest earners we won't be able to compete with them (their owner also has a fair amount of cash too). Brighton could do a Norwich, I have a suspicion that they'll make the play-offs (but I think we will too). It's all going on down here in the land of the Seagulls........ Who started the rumour off about McShane? I mentioned it to a seagull down here and he said "Yes please". McShane was a bit of a legend during a loan spell down here (even scoring the winner against Palace)
Heard from a B&HA fan earlier that they've taken £9m in season ticket sales and corporate packages already. They sold Elliott Bennet to Norwich too. Plus they'll have had a really low wage bill. Gits.
I drove past their new stadium on Saturday..... really smart. 19,000 season tickets sold..... We'll still finish above them.
I think my father-in-law is paying £36 a month DD, I think that makes about 9 million alone (well 8.2m but there were other price categories).
