http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Match-re...nderland-u21-Premier-League-Cup-match-report? A hat-trick from Sunderland's Mikael Mandron dumped City EDS out of the U21 Premier League Cup on Friday night. City went down to a 4-2 defeat at Spotland, despite holding the lead twice. Sinan Bytyqi gave Patrick Vieira's side the lead after midway through the first-half with a goal that was cancelled out by Mandron's first goal of the night . Olivier Ntcham restored the home side's lead five minutes into the second half before Mandron scored twice on 62 and 66 minutes to put the Wearsiders in control. 18 minutes from time, Watmore scored a stunning fourth goal for the Black Cats to confirm their progress into the next round. --------------------------------------------------------- Hattrick for Mandron and a cracker from Watmore against City's youngsters. All good if you ask me. If anyone can find a video of the goals stick it on here Edit: Merged with Teesside's as we posted them almost simultaneously - great minds eh tees?
Watmore is ****ing bang on isn't he? He must have ran 60-70 yards for that goal. Not been this excited about a youngster since Micky Bridges.
Well I thought it was time I did some modding around here - and I don't mean listening to the Jam on full blast!
I would like to see Mandron and Watmore getting some time on the bench for the first team...In my opinion they both could make excellent impact players.
Agree RAW - Watmore especially looks very fast and direct. Am a little excited about him but trying not to get my hopes up as I got very excited about Ryan Noble and look what happened there!!
I keep banging on about Watmore....it's time he was given 20 mins near the end of a game some time soon !
Gus should play him when we have two games in 2 days, Hull at home and Villa away, as he must make a few changes.
It would not be a bad idea to have the alternative given we lack pace up front, especially if we need a goal late on. Gus is not very adventurous with his substitutions though so we could be in for a long wait.
