Because I have a bit of tinnitus I usually go to sleep listening to something quiet to distract me from the ringing noise in my head. Yesterday evening, I came across something on Youtube that I'd heard about for a very long time, but never bothered to investigate. It's called ASMR [type the letters into Youtube] or autonomous sensory meridian response and there are a wealth of videos and audio tracks about it. It replicates the feeling you get when you hear sounds or vibrations and they make you blissfully relaxed and sometimes sleepy. Indeed, they can even send you to sleep very peaceably. Instead of my usual music/radio/story stuff that I use to get me off to sleep, I tried ASMR last night, and although it didn't get me off to sleep quickly [it was quite intriguing] it did eventually. I realised I that, all through it, I was so relaxed I could barely stir at all. It was really nice. BTW, ASMR is not recognised by the medical profession as having any validity at all. But then, neither are osteopaths and they seem to work better than pills, when dealing with back problems.
Fans of top 4 clubs are such self-entitled pricks. They think going three games without a win is a crisis.
I've just read a thread on Saintsweb by a poster who I think also posts on here (I'll spare names but I'm sure he's well known) on the subject of mental illness and feel compelled to post a reply. It's very difficult to be honest and open about illness that inflicts the mind, especially due to the stigma surrounding such a hidden confliction but the article you wrote was exceptional both in it's execution and honesty. Thankyou.
Yes, it was extremely honest and actually insightful. Here it is for you others... http://weneedtotalkaboutrunning.wordpress.com/2014/12/07/i-swear-it-isnt-true/
Owen Coyle to be manager at Houston Dynamos in MLS. He'll be glad to be back in work and be more fun to be a manager in America than at some struggling team here.
Well, I gave them the benefit of the doubt until now, but William Hill still haven't paid BenalisBigRun the £260 that is owed. The total amount owed to 20 charities now totals just under £5k. Contacted the others involved, and they also have been ignored in countless emails and then brushed off with generic answers. Looks like I will have to go to the newspapers after all...
Take them to the cleaners ... one last option to try though is to find the name of the MD or CEO and email them.
I've tried with the Head of PR and Media at William Hill, alas, nothing. Alex Crook has asked me to write up a story and he's going to push it to the nationals on my behalf...
Unbelievable. Its peanuts when you look at their profits. If I was the Head of PR I'd have doubled it and milked the positive publicity.
Yep, the best way to overcome ignorance about any affliction is to have open debate and information disclosed about it. "Comedians" should really know better than to get a cheap laugh out of mental illness, but they will continue to make the jokes because it makes them appear "edgy", but I have never found them remotely funny.
I intend to. I'm writing it as we speak, and have been speaking to the Benali's also. Currently pulling together all the other competitors for quotes, too.
I'd be tepmpted to let the other big firms know. Ladbrokes Paddy Poweer etc would love the hance to put one over on Hills. Might boost the Benali coffers.
Anyone here smart with Outlook? When I turn my computer on in the morning it's taking about an hour or so to sync and show me new mails which is a massive pain in the backside. Any clues on what to do?
