Oh the irony. Exactly. There's no bigger joke in football than the Liverpool community. We're a million miles behind until we catch up with them. I can't understand what you're getting so precious about them for?
And that says a lot about Liverpool! Austin is a tidy player and is doing a good job at QPR. That's his place. QPR are his Club. But he aint a top 4 team player and if Liverpool want to sign him there is a reason - probably to have an English player in the squad. Look at Scott Sinclair who left the Swans to "play" for Man City. Enough said
? Liverpool are indeed the biggest joke in football. And I'm not precious about them at all. Why would I like us to join them in the joke fraternity though? What ever happened to feet on the ground?
It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. They've signed a lot worse than Charlie in recent history. Chazmatazz is a very good player but I don't think going to Liverpool would be a good move for him. They're a farce.
I could understand Charlie going to the scousers...Looks like he knows how to knick the money out of a "lecky meter" and TWOc-ing would certainly intrest him. Add that and all the hubcaps he could steal and its a great deal.. But seriously, if hhe wants to be there then fair enough. People forget he dumped Burnley for us and a chance in the spotlight. Hopefully he stays until the end of season and helps us safe, then if he wants out i say good luck to him. Thanks for your services and get a decent price. We're a small prem club that cant hold on to top players so we have o deal with it. This now gives TF & HR 6 months to line up a replacement. Lets go for Ings, Rhodes, Vardy or the like.
Before you castigate any more of our fellow posters on here above an oppositions board, that I take that you don't have any connection with. I'd suggest that you take a look at their signings since Rodgers took over, and the tell them to keep their feet on the ground rather than de-construct a whimsical throwaway imaginary transfer fee made by one of our own.... Fabio Borini, £10.5m Joe Allen, £15m Oussama Assaidi, £2.4m Samed Yesil, £1m Daniel Sturridge, £12m Philippe Coutinho, £8.5m Luis Alberto, £6.8m Iago Aspas, £7.2m Simon Mignolet, £9m Kolo Touré, free Tiago Ilori, £7m Aly Cissokho, loan Mamadou Sakho, £19m Victor Moses, loan Rickie Lambert, £4.5m Adam Lallana, £25m Emre Can, £9.8m Dejan Lovren, £20m Alberto Moreno, £12m Divock Origi, £9.8m Lazar Markovic, £20m Mario Balotelli £16m
The second paragraph of your post I wholly agree with and is a point well made. The first paragraph however is wrong, inappropriate and stereotyping. If you applied it to any other ethnic minority you'd be had up in a court of law.
I don't know what you're getting so touchy about. I said to Turkish who was incensed in the last page at Liverpool fan's responses that its no wonder they're sceptical considering the amount of dross they've signed for huge money over the last few years. Why on earth would they want to spend 30+ million on a guy that's only been in the Prem for a couple of months after all that? A few weeks ago some of our lads were saying Charlie couldn't make the step up to the Prem. Now all of a sudden he's worth 30 million plus Lambert. There was also a thread a few days ago asking should we sign Danny Ings for 3 million quid in January FFS I'm beginning to think Oddball is right regarding the craziness of our fan base.
Nines, Im not quite sure what is up with you mate, but i think you need to chill Are you telling me that people from Liverpool are an ethnic minority? WTF is that about. I dont see any Liverpool fans complaining and if they had i'd certainly explain it was a joke..hence the laughing face. As for the court of law, maybe you'd like to check the stats regarding TWOC-ing and "lecky meters" then. Its a well accepted fact that these were real issues n and around the Merseyside area many years ago. They take i as a joke and so should you Am i entitled to get upset everytime London is slagged of or the like? Chill out mate we are all grown ups. I said nothing abusive at all. FOY THE RECORD, if there are any Liverpudlians out there who may have been offended, then i appologise. I thought we were allowed to enjoy this forum. Obiously i was wrong.
It's only a football forum. Whatever is said on here doesn't matter ( Within reason.) You can't on the the one hand, criticise Roller and I for being too heavy handed. ( As you once did. ) and then decide to disassemble someone's post because it doesn't suit your way of thought when you once advocated free speech on here.
How can you compare banning people - IE stopping them from talking - to disagreeing with what someone says? In no way do I want anyone I disagree with silenced. They can say all they want to their heart's content. And I can debate with them. That's what its all about. I don't think its fair you saying I'd ever advocate censorship of any kind.
Swords, of course the valuation of 30 million is ridiculous - it's meant to be. Assuming everyone has their price, we're all just saying that Austin's should be significantly more than his actual valuation to the point where he is (virtually) unbuyable in January. This is to include replacing him in the same January window (where his replacement would probably be overpriced too) with someone who could provide the same scoring rate for the second half of the season - ie a proven quantity. To sell him for a realistic valuation (say 10-15 million) would leave us in the mire and so would be more stupid than the over-inflated figure that you think is ridiculous. He can go in the Summer if his heart is set on leaving. Of course, we're second guessing what the board should say and do but hopefully you get my point.
