Size isn't important for a midfielder or attacker. Enough players have proven that over the years.

For some reason all the big teams seem to step up against us though. Look at arsenal as an example - they were atrocious yesterday against Stoke, but good against us. Stoke were no better than us and scored 3 goals.

It's not that the big teams play better against us. It's that we play attacking football against them, whether we are at home or away. We tend only to go with a slightly more defensive postured midfield when we playing away. Other than that it's the same.

This means that although we have a good chance of winning, the best teams can exploit any defensive weaknesses. The slightly less good don't and invariably we can beat them, either home or away. Only against ManC has the result not been in doubt up to the final whistle, or when we've been well in the lead.

Our football posture is a risky one, but it doesn't half make for entertaining football. And because Saints are invariably good enough, we win more often that not.

Monday night football is good once it gets to the match, but I hate the wait over the weekend

Agreed. Third game in four where I'll be at work, with the other a 9:30am start in my time zone. Bring on a return to the 3pm block.

    https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news...gaal-ronald-koeman-forced-140104771--sow.html

Article from Eurosport suggesting the feud with Koeman still exists, but, although LVG is quoted, it is not clear whether these were recent quotes. Probably they have a professional relationship, but will never be best buddies. LVG accused Koeman of being weak in his autobiography, but it was LVG forced out not Koeman...so make of that what you will.

The BBC continue to disrespect and ignore Saints on their Breakfast programme with the headlines that "Manchester United can go up to third if they win tonight at Southampton"
I think Saints could go BACK into third place if they beat Manure
    Typical!

Its time we beat them again. Its been far too long. Perhaps we should wear grey shirts? They are no Man City and if we can keep Rooney quiet we can get a result. COYR!

Think it was back in 2004. A 1-0 home win.

The 1-0 win was our third consecutive win at home against them. Happy days.
