30 million for Austin you could get Sanchez for that! nobody would pay anymore than 10m for him. If you do go down someone like stoke or swansea will buy him.
People are getting carried away. He's only been in the Prem a wet weekend. And if anyone mentions Andy Carroll to justify other ludicrous price tags I'll chin some fu*ker
Yes true about the comment from Austin against Swansea my Bro was sat in the front seat in front of him when he shouted it , but players get frustrated so not much to link it with a move away. Frustrating that we can't give him the service away or even 50% of what we give him at home. Yesterday he was on the left the whole of the 1st half and did'nt have a sniff , in the middle totally different story , another lesson for HR
It is a high valuation but then it's talk of a January transfer and the valuations go out the window. No silly money, no sale IMO. Plus a kind poster has just confirmed that it's paper talk above. Sorry, not much wind-up opportunity here mate.
I know its only a rumour but there really should be a rule against this kind of thing. Charlie is our shining light and possibly the difference between us staying up and going down with all the financial implications that go with that and for some big club to just waltz in a cherry pick him away therefore condemning us to who knows what is just plain wrong. A player under contract should be out of bounds until at least close season
Exactly, if Liverpool do want him only silly money will suffice, and THEY paid £35 million for Carroll, now that's seriously silly... Over to you Swords...
After all the talk of how hard working he is and all the non league, used to be a bricky stuff. It would be pretty mercenary of him even by football's greedy standards.
Could be that the bloke who told me only read it in the paper then. He said it as if he'd been told. Probably bollocks then.
I keep reading that Austin was on the left. He wasn't. He made runs in the left channel but fer was on the left.
Charlie's PL career is only 8 goals old. I can't see too many "big" clubs stumping up silly money unless they are really desperate.
pmsl, this from a mob that signed Carroll & Balotelli, makes my blood boil yet another team whos best years are so long ago most 20 somethings cant remember them and still think they are a power to be feared and they only deserve the best of signings............................................ If they obviously think they can get better than Charlie let 'em dream on, besides which they "STOLE " Sterling off us for a song and i cant see TF getting robbed by the scousers twice.
True, Liverpool waited for Carroll to hit double figures before they threw £35m at him. Better hope Austin doesn't get another two before the window opens...
Yes. There was no movement from Charlie into that space at all! Funny how "proper" goalscorers only score when the ball is put on a plate for them & they have somehow stumbled away from the defenders. He must be a very lucky man.
Turkish, being honest, I'm totally against the grain with everyone on this thread apart from Stan. I can't see what's wrong with Liverpool fans not wanting him. I mean why the hell would they? They bought a number of British players off lower teams in recent years and for the most part they've been bloody average. There was Allen, Lambert is the latest addition and of course there was the biggest transfer mugging of the Century with Andy Carroll. When they read this thread and see folk quoting 30 million plus players (no offence Soopy) for a guy who's only just started playing in the Prem, its no wonder they balk. I'm sure for 30 million they'd have a lot more targets lined up. It was only a few weeks ago that some of our own fans were saying he wouldn't hack it in the Prem and that he was a good 2nd tier striker. Now all of a sudden he's worth 30-odd million!! If what the OP says is true, its great news. The only time you know you're getting it right as a small Club is when big Clubs start sniffing around your players. If we eventually sell him on for a decent profit then we're doing exactly what we should be doing. Buy cheap, develop and then sell at a profit, all the while reinvesting in more promising young players. Southampton are the perfect model we should try and emulate. We're light years behind them but you've got to start somewhere. We can become a successful selling Club again, like we were in the past. We were doing the complete opposite two years ago and look where that lead us. Its entirely up to us whether we sell anyone in January or not. Its a brilliant position of power to be in. Onwards and Upwards you R's!!
