Chairman and Manager aside, What do we need and what do we need to get rid of?

I have no doubt that Bruce is the right man for the job and eventually I believe we will come good. Sam Alladyce and Alan Pardew are fine examples of managers who came under fire but are currently proving their doubters wrong and are getting results and playing good football.

However. It is plain to see that we are missing a few things in terms of players and possibly coaches.

What type of player(s) are we missing?

Who needs to leave?

Do we need any other coaches?
 
Nothing wrong with the team in my opinion, we have a good balance of all different types of player for many different styles of play, the problem is they're not being utilised properly, for whatever reason, I have my opinions on the root of that problem.
 
I'm sure your signature is the answer to that.

I think we could do with a couple out. Ince back. A striker. An organised midfielder and possibly a new attacking coach.
 
We have needed a defensive midfielder for ages. We have noone to protect the defence. Hudd and Livermore not disciplined enough to play there. Teams have countless opportunities to run at our defence centrally with no protection
 
Watching West Ham today, I was thinking how much we crave someone like Alex Song. Diame is a similar type of player, although Song is more defensively minded. We also need a quick, strong, powerful centre forward. When Jelavic is out, we're snookered. Someone with pace would be be nice too.
 
I think SB needs to learn how to manage what he's got before anyone else comes in. I suspect a lot of players got their noses put out of joint over the summer with all the new arrivals all of whom would be expecting to start every week.
 
I think we need to get rid of the ability to post new topics within 3 months of registering. In the first 3 months, it should be replies only.

We have the players - we just need to play the right ones in the right way.

Let's put some midfielders in the team, rather than the technically gifted but ineffective Huddlestone + Livermore.

Something like:

Rosie Chester Dawson Robertson
-----Livermore-Meyler---------
-Elmo ---- Quinn ------ Brady
----------Jelavic--------------

Would have a good go against the likes of West Brom.

Meyler and Quinn playing centrally would do things other than passing the ball out to the wing, and they would also win the ball in midfield sometimes rather than backing off and containing.

The threat on the wings is still there, but Meyler can run forward with the ball, and Quinn can make an incisive pass. Things which Huddlestone and Livermore never do.

Whilst I agree with the sentiments. I think the term poodle is overused and pretty cringeworthy term, usually used by people who have an overinflated sense of how important their support to the club is or used by the 'I was there when we where ****' brigade.
 
There's a lot of poodles who think they know the game of football and the strengths and weaknesses of our squad better than Steve Bruce.
 
We need the ability to win a game, it was only just over a month ago we were saying how great things were, scoring 2 goals a game, not worrying about anything except how to tighten up the defence. Now every thread is, we need a new striker, midfielder & goalkeeper. New manager, what has happened since that draw at Arsenal? Why have we become so scared to attack or have we just been found out? Has SB got scared? What is really happening behind the scenes, has he lost the dressing room?

No, it is used by people who can see just how many PL ****ers there are around.



There are a lot of them. Quite a few on here.

A response typical of a poodle. I've never banged on about some of the ****e places I've seen us play, nor do I think my support is better or worse than anyone else's. Further, whilst I was there when we were ****, I firmly believe we are not currently ****, but we are playing in a challenging league and despite all the problems we have I don't want to see either our owner or our manager go.

We have a good squad that's had some fitness problems. They'll come good.

On the bright side, we're not TWS nor are we Leicester.
 
I meant to to add that I welcome and embrace all new fans. Except the ones who get all poodley and start wetting their knickers when we lose.
 
The poodles need someone to yap at and are struggling to yap since we got rid of Koren, they had a yap at Ben Arfa, and Livermore and some even cock their little poodle legs up at Huddlestone now they have their little poodle tails up cos they can yap yap yap at Meyler, yap yap yap!
 
More lemons, less (booze + spinach) = fewer urinary problems is what I was told.

A fearless big-man up front (like Duncan Disorderly or Carroll today), and an aggressive leader in midfield (like Cattermole or Ashbee) to free up our creative players.
A couple of "dirty" wins should bring back the recently dwindling confidense. Replacing the manager is not the answer, unless he has lost the dressing room, which I highly doubt.
