Seriously, has he had one yet? How did he fail a medical and Bull**** didnt?

I imagine every single one of us would rather have him than Hernandez and lets not forget he was desperate to come here. I also think him and Jelly would combine brilliantly.

The luck we have, you can guarantee that he would have been injured in his first few games or be sh!t if he had have come here.

He was out for a good while injured last season.

It’s dead easy to make these calls in hindsight and at the time, I’d have rather have had Huddlestone than Austin for 5 or 6m (can’t remember what it was we were due to play).

If Bruce made every single transfer call correct, do you seriously think he’d be managing us?

Not signing Austin wasnt Bruce's call.

And seriously, you'd rather have Huddlestone? I dont see how its one or the other but either way, for me he'd be one of the first names out the door.

Didn't we choose not to sign after seeing the results of the medical rather then him failing a medical?

Again, hindsight. Huddlestone was/is a seminal signing for Hull City, did you condemn this signing at the time?

I've no idea of who made the decision not to sign Austin.

What's the difference? If we didnt like the results, he failed the medical.

I said consistently last season that I've seen Huddlestone have about 3 good games and the calls for him to make the England squad were ridiculous.

He shouldnt be in the first XI at the minute.

If Nigel Pearson wasn't such a cheap skate **** we'd have had Austin anyway, but he tried to play ****ing hard ball with Swindon over a measly pissing 300k and we ended up for Aaron McLean instead.

If you want to blame anyone, blame that dour ****.

If i remember right lots of people said he wasn't "a proven" Premier League goal scorer and we should go for someone better.

Well the doctor who carried out the medical pass him.

But we choose not to risk him because something to do with his shoulder.

You may be right/wrong about his form at the minute.

By and large, I thought Huddlestone was great last season.

Saying that you didn't think he was deserving of an England squad place is a very different concept to not wanting to sign him in the first place, or calling for him to be dropped.

I don't remember anyone on this forum, last season, asking for Hudd to be dropped - please link me up if you posted differently.

Austin has done far better than I could have imagined.

QPR paid about 3.5m for him and that's proved a bargain whatever happens now.

But, without any justification, I still don't see him lasting in this division and perhaps unfairly I perceive his run to be a bit of a flash in the pan - I suppose we'll see. And remember, Burnley sold him and then got promoted against the odds last season.

It was his knee, and it was some sort of genetic condition or something another, not a weakness that MIGHT go, but and illness that WILL go, and putting a timescale on was impossible, it could have been in 10 months time or 10 years time and we just couldn't take the risk.

That's what I remember, might be wrong, don't take it as gospel.

I never said me or anyone else said he should be dropped last season so why ask for a link to something that i never claimed to have said?

And how is this a conversation about Huddlestone? He's got nothing to do with whether we should've signed Austin or not.

    Back on topic.

I did say numerous times last season, there was a fairly long period in which he was well off form (worse than he's been recently) when I called for him to be dropped.

I remember being called an idiot and such like, but I don't remember anyone agreeing with me.

    That does ring a bell.

But certainly remember something coming out about his shoulder too. Maybe that's people putting 2+2 together.

He dislocated his shoulder and a dislocated shoulder usually always remains weak and susceptible to repeat injury, but it was his knee where the problem was found, I know I've remembered that right. And now coming to think of it I'm fairly certain I remembered the rest correctly as well.
