This is what you call a "landmark" promo. On the same level as the Austin 3:16 promo, and we all know what happened there.
One of the best bits of WWE i've seen ever. Great bit of work from everyone in WWE. Will Punk stay now?
I think it is. The world was chatting about it on Tuesday. Raw was trending, I had people posting and reposting it all over facebook. Wrestling seemed cool in a way it has not been for a long time. It may show the WWE that the world doesnt want PG anymore.
The sad fact is that WWE will be PG until at least 2014, thanks to the length of the contract they signed with Mattel. On the other hand, it's taken them this long to realise that Raw/SD have viewers that aren't interested in the PG product, and have been shunned for a couple of years now. It's not the first time a promo running Cena out of town has been used on Raw this year - The Rock did the same thing a few months back - but the fact both promos appealed to more of the WWE's fanbase than any of the bilge that Cena calls promos should serve as a colossal hint. On the other hand... ***SPOILERS*** On next week's Raw, Cena is told if he loses to Punk, he's fired. So that's another great angle pissed up the wall for the sake of keeping Super Cena slightly below appalling...
Its Cena is fired if Punk leaves with the title, not if he loses, i think punk could win then lose on a cash in.
That does seem quite likley. Punk will win then one of the ladder match winners cash in and take the title back. I cant tell you how much I hope this is a work and Punk stays on, the man has single handedly convinced me to subscribe to Sky Sports. I may even buy money in the bank depending on how entertaining the next few eps of Raw are.
Punk said he'd leave with the title if he won it, so therefore if Cena loses he's fired. Which is exactly what I said. Also, it's the exact same threat he made at Death Before Dishonor III way back in 2005, which this whole angle is not a blatant rip off in any way, right down to comparing Punk's Livejournal posts from then to his recent Twitter posts... please log in to view this image
But he wont leave with the title if someone cashes in the MITB Plus his contract isnt up till september.
Which is exactly the same as the angle in ROH - they played that his contract would be up in June, but it was actually up in August.
Punk is leaving, as he said he is to take some time off, so he may come back in a few months. But there are one or two scenarios here, 1 he wins the title and loses it to the MITB winner straight after, 2 he loses and is gone anyway embarrassed out of his hometown or he wins and then vacates the title having beaten Cena. And things i've heard Cena has a few injuries so this could be an opportunity for WWE to get him off TV for a few months to let him heal as they won't want him to get seriously hurt and be out for next years Wrestlemania
I think CM Punk will beat Cena and leave with the belt. It would be a poor cop-out if Punk wins and then the winner of MITB beats him straight after.
If he does win and leaves, hopefully they can scrap that ****e spinny thing and get a decent looking title or just have the one big one.
I;'ve heard that Cena has some niggling injuries, so i'm gonna predict a Punk win, Cena gets 'fired', MITB winner cashes in and loses
