But to be fair , you only ever remember the last 90 minutes.

This will all be a slightly unpleasant memory by next weekend for you .

I agree, sacking Wenger now would be a foolish move. Wait until the end of the season and reassess the situation. Either way, more changes need to take place and one of those may mean bringing someone in that can challenge Wenger, should he stay for another year. He's become too comfortable in the job and needs someone to keep him on his toes.

Sometimes you need another person to give you a fresh perspective on things. It's like when you're working on something for so long, you somehow miss the small things. No matter how many times you go over the same thing, your brain simply can not pick up on it.

What's this got to do with a Spurs fan saying that he hopes we sack Wenger now because it would be suicide for Arsenal ?

Also, I thought you had decided to leave this forum, that's what you told everybody.

Little surprise that you pop up again after a defeat.

I get the impression that Wenger is probably a stickler for the details, seeing as he pours over stats. But his time may be coming to and end at Arsenal. We need to at least wait until the end of the season. The spurs fans earlier said it all when he said that he hopes we sack him now as it would be suicide for us. And to repeat, we should only replace Wenger if we can get somebody better to do the job, it's no easy task, so people need to be realistic about what it actually means to get rid of Wenger.

<laugh> No matter how bad people think Wenger has become, there's always the last 12 Spurs managers to give us a reality check.

Where does Steve Bould come in the Arsenal set up? Does he have any input or is he just a silent spectator on the bench?

I hope they protest and I hope it's a big one. It might wake Wenger up and show him his job isn't safe and it isn't an isolated section of the fan base. I hope it wakes the club up to the discontent amongst the fans and they make changes - to the coaching, to the set up, to the playing staff in January. Perhaps one protest will be enough.

    Genuine question.

What changes do you think a fan protest could realistically affect that would improve us ?

Or would it just be an opportunity to vent some frustration ?

Make Wenger clear that the current performance is threatening his job. Make Wenger buy the required players in January. Make the board realise the fans want Wenger out. Make the board realise the fans will not stand for being also-rans continually. How many do you want? A big protest to vent their unhappiness could work wonders. The players just got destroyed by Stoke City, I'm not sure their confidence can get much lower, so now is the perfect time.

Wenger and the club need to know there's a lot of discontent, they may not appreciate how much discontent there is, so such a major protest may get their attention and make them realise. In their minds they might think "ah it's just some fans that are pissed off, no biggy".

I'm hoping this protest is big, so it gets their attention, and yes fans need to vent!

I'm not sure a fan protest is going to achieve any of those things, but I appreciate the frustration and desire for change.

Personally, I'm not of the opinion that a protest would damage the players confidence, I think it might spur them on to want to do better.

What confidence is there to destroy? They're people, some of them smart people. They know what's happening isn't good enough just like we do. Some of them may also be fed up of it.

I don't believe Wenger will ever be sacked, I think its a case of he decides when he leaves like with SAF. After winning the FA cup would have been a great time to go and he would have been a club legend but now its a possibility he could leave the club at the end of the season and like us last season leave you with no Champions League footy

I agree. One of our big issues is that our board always talk about how Wenger 'has a job for life' and they are happy with the way things are 'progressing'.

The fans need to put pressure on the Boss and the board. Wenger needs to be aware that the expectations are higher now. The transitional phase is over we need to be challenging at the very least.

I'd be willing to put money on us not getting CL footy if we sacked Wenger mid season.

I hear what you're saying, I just don't think a fan protest is going to tell Wenger, the board or the players anything that they don't already know or are thinking themselves.
