Depressingly I've spent a considerable amount of this evening basically stuck in the office, bored. So it passed some time.

I take it you don't use Apple products ? Also I don't think that our maufacturing industry is ****ed because of factory emissions nice excuse though.
I do find it ourageous that in France people drive Renault or Citroen Italy Fiat even bloody Spain have Seat and we don't own and produce any cars .
Surely our European brothers are under the same restrictions and we have plenty of hard working foreigners here to do the work for us lazy English.
    Strange one that .

I have it on good authority that all the livestock in Norfolk produces 5 times as much gas emitions than that of London's cars...

Funnily enough I don't own any 'Apple' products, however that is not really my point. I work in the Bathroom & Plumbing industry and I can assure you there is **** all that is now made here. Due to stringent EU regulations all the major sanitaryware and brassware (taps etc) producers now source from Eastern Europe and the Far East and that's my point. I'm not saying that we shouldn't have these controls in place, but how can it be ethical to close factories here and then import from abroad where they don't give a toss ? Famous brands still exist in name only as these companies are now foreign owned. You will still see products bearing the Armitage-Shanks, Ideal Standard, Twyford etc. logos but everything is brought in from overseas. The quality of Ideal Standard vitreous china for example used to be near perfect with a finish as smooth as glass, now it invariably has an 'orange peel' effect and what we term in the trade 'pin-holes'. I suppose the crux of the matter is that people either cannot afford to or will not pay for quality any more. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

You know energy security is not necessarily anything to do with going "green" right?

Haven't read back but presumably that gross over reaction was a result of me having the bare faced cheek to suggest reading policies of other parties and that the Green party used to come out with some real awful stuff but have actually got a lot of sensible policies.

They're one of the few parties that believes that there should be NO private sector in the NHS for example.

As much as people like you might be OK under the Tories many of us are not, the country counter to the bullshit factory is not doing well and George's latest plan that's been checked out by many independent bodies requires US to borrow an additional £360bn of unsecured lending.

Doesn't sound like a safe way to build an economy to me.

Tbh I think the system is so corrupt and broken it needs tearing down and rebuilding that goes regardless of whatever party is in power.

How can you clock in, get paid & go home?

How can it be OK to fall asleep at work and get paid?

How can it be OK to be an MP on the commons select health committee and then take up a job at a private company bidding for a £1bn NHS contract and he's STILL an MP

There's too much of this old boy bullshit, there's too much political posturing over progress and protection. The commons and the Lords have failed scrap and rebuild.
