The world really is full of arseholes. I live fairly near and if I go shopping in Milton Keynes I always make a point of driving past the RB factory on the way home and pointing it out to the kids. Some people are just total scum.
Horner was saying they don't have much material value though, so they won't be worth anything melted down. There's only collector's value, and everyone will know they are stolen.
I think we've either got to assume this thieves were too stupid to realise this, or smart enough to have a buyer in place before the theft. I'm sure there's someone somewhere willing to pay for F1 trophies, and doesn't care about trivial things like laws.
It will be a rich arab or a drug dealer boss who watches F1. Or Alonso because of all the title chances he has missed. Either way they won't be melted down it's not gold.
As I've seen pointed out elsewhere, this video really shows how easy it would have been. Particularly the beginning and 5mins in.
You'd have to think they were stolen to order. You don't just rock up at an F1 factory and drive into it to nick a load of memorabilia without knowing what you're going to do with it. I imagine there will be a lot of CCTV review to see if some 'fans' had been having a lot of factory tours recently. update: Police have revealed the criminal left a fingertip at the scene and was seen running away screaming "they're all mine anyway"............ please log in to view this image
Its crazy it happened so soon after Vettels posing infront of the trophies when he had his last meeting. Maybe showing off the cabinet enticed the thieves.
What a crock of ****e the ask crofty show was. I saw 5mins of him starting a rock paper scissors game to win a signed shirt and turned the crap off. Way to help the sport lose legitimacy.
A T-shirt signed by himself, by any chance? I cannot think of a more conceited individual publicly associated with motorsport.
Bhaji: you are a damned good candidate for the Awards thread's funniest forum member (as well as number 1 contributor)…
It's all credit to Bernie. He's the gi(f)t that keeps on giving. Thinking about it, he probably got the tin at a discount from Putin. 100% solid Siberian tin.
