That was at Saltergate. At least, I was at Saltergate, perhaps you were watching pigeons playing at the shell of the new stadsium?
When a player says he wants to leave a club, then he usually goes. When a club says they also rid of that player, then he definitely goes. When there's demand from other clubs for that player, then it's simply a matter of time.
Same story as last year and we still own his contract. He still has two years to run at 45k a year. We will still be having this debate in 12 months time.
exactly. I think people view things about City with rose tinted glassess on this forum we need to be realistic and the only thing we can base our knowledge on is fact, the fact is he said the same thing last year and didnt move on when a stone wall offer from a champions league club came in. What will be different this season.
I'm naturally pessimistic anyway, so I'm not even going to consider the possibility of him leaving... yet.
I want him to stay anyway, he's a brilliant player and fantastic bloke. It's just a shame the Pearsons can't be man enough to bite the bullet and start afresh with him. They treat him like he's an icon from the old regime constantly reminding them of Browns/Duffens success, superiority and brilliance. If he does go I'll only be happy if we bring in quality replacements, but he should stay and while we're paying him 45k a week he should almost certainly be playing week in week out.
