He is different that's all, he is harmless.

If you choose to summarily dismiss all those different from you in real life you will ultimately fail. Is it really necessary to ban him. Did he break the main site rules. You all know jono and you could always just ignore him...

Reams is more tolerant than you! Man up and leave jono be.

Oh get off your high horse, glory. What a pathetic post.

I knew you would stick your boat in - as you never come on here with anything interesting to say. Just to give it a little stir. It's boring now.

I like Ackworth but I have to admit he is a destroyer of football forums. We had to ban him from Charlton Observer as he totally took over, as he has done on all other Forums. What happens is that other regular posters post less and less and then not at all. It is up to you Super and other moderators to moderate the Forum on the basis of what is best for everyone.

I don't understand why Chippy posts on here, he is a Leeds fan, isn't he?

    Some people can't resist, DP.

Now back to the topic at hand. I thought the club did a good job on social media yesterday, reliving the clips of the gates opening, and going over some of the results we've had on December 5th like the lisbie winner at Chelsea.

It was great reminiscing about that wonderful day and watching the various clips. Charlton, for me, is the Valley and the Valley is Charlton. It wasn't the same playing at Selhurst Park and Upton Park.

Ban me too then. You complain about Reams but you are every bit as bad as him... Banning people just because they take you to task... If you had a shred of decency you would consider your position as a mod here. You are abusing the authority it gives you.

    Hypocrite.

I am also a football, fan, this is a public forum, I have a soft spot for charlton, and I probably go to the valley more than most of you who post here.

have a day off: if people are unhappy with the way I run this then I'll apologise and step down. Ive banned two people in the 2-3 years I've done this - some tyrant I am. This is my FINAL post on this - I did everything I could but as always it DIDNT work. Now go back to your Leeds board and stop with the rubbish. As always, if you're unhappy then PM me. Don't clutter the forum with rubbish.

Get over yourself treacle. Clutter the board? There is next to no traffic on it. Why could that be? Don't blame jono or me!

I didn't make it to the Valley re-opening as I was at sea at the time. We were in UK waters though and from the weather deck it was possible to get a radio signal. My oppo, appropriately nicknamed "Crash" (honestly.... it really was appropriate. You had to know this guy), who was a fanatical Pompey fan was off watch at the time and was glued to his radio listening in to the BBC. I was on watch so was working. No surprise then, when he came bursting into my section whooping that reception was rubbish but he'd heard the radio say Walsh had scored so it was 1 - 0 to Pompey.

Knowing the personnel of the two teams, I asked him if he was sure which Walsh had scored. A cloud of suspicion crossed his face. "What you mean?"

"Well", I said "Did they say whether it was Paul Walsh or Colin Walsh who scored?"

    "Who's Colin Walsh?"

There are times in life when discretion is the better part of valour. Trust me. I suggested he get back to the upper scupper and try to get a better reception. On the off chance that it really was Colin Wash who'd scored, I made myself scarce for the rest of the day. I got the result from another mate the next day.
