even the most passionate of scouse fans know he would not get in the top twenty, but dippers are not used to telling the truth. To prove the point, check out Phil Thompson's nose.
So amusing, calling us the deluded ones! Yest the dippers keep turning up on this board on a daily basis. Or is it just that they like to check out a successful side compared to their own "make up the numbers" premiership team
I've always popped in now and then win or lose, I quite like some of the posters on here and besides Christian would miss me if I left. You though are a dick.
Steven Gerrard is top 10, for me. Scholes and Keane are probably ahead of him, but at one point or another Gerrard has been excellent in every midfield position and even on the wing. To say he's not influential is ridiculous, on numerous occasions he has pulled us out of the ****, and if he had been surrounded by a better calibre of players he'd of won the league by now. He's scored 177 goals for us, made 600 odd appearances and has almost single handedly dragged us back in to two couple finals. On top of that countless goals agaisnt both Man Utd and Everton, Stevie is very much a big game player. Though I'm not expecting anyone on this board to agree with me!
No wonder people call you lot deluded. Stevie Me is at best top 20 and his contribution seems significant only because he is the proverbial fish in the small pond. So that anything he does is amplified. There must be at least a dozen players well above him. Rodgers himself in 2012 didn't even give him a mention. A great player would at least have come under his radar. The only reason he is doing this obvious arselicking is to placate a very popular player who he should jettison anyway if he had some sense and balls...
Gerrard will ultimately be remembered more his numerous failures than his few successes. - losing Liverpool the league title with his slip - singlehandedly knocking England out of two major championships - own goal to lose Liverpool the league cup against Chelsea A decent enough player on his day but as most on here have rightly said, doesn't come close to any of the truly top players. You could argue that playing at a smaller club has hampered his chances, but Suarez was able to prove his ability last season so that doesn't really cut it.
He'll only be remembered for those things by opposition fans who want to hate. In reality, he be remember for much better things such as... - Single handedly dragging Liverpool into the CL - that goal against Leverkusen - Istanbul And a bit like with the Stanley Matthews Final... - The Gerrard final in 2006
istanbul and the 2006 cup final will certainly be remembered as fine achievements, but ultimately outweighed by the greater volume of negative things that underpin his career.
Can't one of the mods close this thread? We all know super Stevie me is worn out, but all this thread does is get all the YSB's prattling on here with boring nonsense about how wonderful he is.
better to comment on the topic being discussed than whining all the time like you do. you sound like a female
I was simply reminding old mate if he hasn't got anything nice to say then it's best to keep quiet Also there's no need to close the thread , from what I've seen there's been some good comments
Total waste of time swarbs, yer another dense YSB twat who virtually lives here. You wonder if they have any loyalty to their own team, as all they seem do do is reside here like some unwanted squatters. the reason I suggested closing the thread is quite simply all this chat about the wonderful Stevie me makes me want to throw up
For what it's worth I would put gerrard up there with some of the best players to have played in the league.. Though I would put him behind players like giggs, scholes. If I'm being brutally honest I'd put lampard ahead of him. I do think gerrard in his pomp was a tremendous player. Anyone saying otherwise is being a tad deluded. To say who was THEE best premiership player of all time is a massive debate as I don't know who I'd go for. I'd say ronaldo is the best player to have played in the league.. But if you weigh it up on perhaps an overall contribution who continuously made a difference and won things then I'd say scholes, Henry, cantona, Berkamp, giggs, keane all ahead of him. Not that they were mentioned in order.. Other than maybe scholes..
