Galatasaray winger Bruma may well be up from grabs this January, and his agent insists the Premier League could be his likely destination. Marco Kirdemir has been very vocal in the press, which tends to lead you to believe a deal is likely to happen somewhere, and Sunderland is a club that has now been specifically mentioned as one with a long-standing interest. He said: Sunderland wanted to loan Bruma in January. This summer Everton and Monaco wanted Bruma on loan, they had been keeping tabs on him for a while. I can see Bruma playing in the Premier League in the future. Sunderland's previous interest was fairly well-known in January. In fact, a loan deal had been agreed between the two clubs with documentation leaked (LINK) only for it to fall apart due to a freak serious knee injury at the last moment. Perhaps unusually for Sunderland, we still have the same manager, so it's certainly worth keeping an eye on this one to see if/how it develops
Him and PVA would be devastating on the left wing, loads of pace! Cant see him being a priority however
SUNDERLAND will make contingency plans to sign a new left-back in January – in case Patrick van Aanholt’s rehabilitation encounters any obstacles. Van Aanholt faces around two and a half months on the sidelines after surgery on the dislocated shoulder he suffered in the victory at Crystal Palace three weeks ago. Head coach Gus Poyet plans to use versatile full-backs Anthony Reveillere and Billy Jones to cover for van Aanholt until the Dutch international is due to be back in contention in mid-January. If that goes to plan, then Poyet doesn’t see the need to bring in another specialist left-back. But should van Aanholt’s recovery hit a snag, Poyet has told Lee Congerton to look for possible left-back targets in January after holding further talks with the sporting director last night over the upcoming transfer window. Poyet told the Gazette: “I met Lee again to define a few things. “And let’s say it (left-back) is a position that needs to be on standby. “We need to have an option, just in case something doesn’t work and Patrick’s recovery has a setback. “It all depends on how he recovers. “If he doesn’t have any setbacks, it’s going to be the middle of January before he is training again. “But he is a fit lad and, once the healing after the operation is finished, the speed of the recovery is up to him. We’ll see.” Van Aanholt is the only specialist left-back in Sunderland’s squad and has arguably been the most impressive of the Black Cats’ nine summer signings after developing in just three months at the Stadium of Light. Although ex-France international Reveillere has deputised impressively in his two games since penning a short-term deal with the Black Cats, Poyet admits the absence of van Aanholt is a loss. “It’s a big blow to have lost Patrick,” he said. “There are not many left-footed left-backs in the world – and it is very difficult to find one that is available at this level. “He was getting used to what we wanted because we were working him hard every day! “So it’s a step back. We have to cope with the situation.” Setting aside the left-back situation, Poyet does not expect Sunderland to be bringing in a host of players in the January window. Instead, Poyet will look to bring in one or two quality fresh faces who can make a real difference to the Black Cats squad. “My idea is to bring as few in as possible,” he added. “I don’t want too many changes. “I think it’s time to mainly work with what we have got, but perhaps add one or two players that will really make a difference – not just bodies. “Because when you try to add too many, you cannot get the quality you want with the money available. It’s impossible. “We just need to concentrate on bringing in that one player who can take you to another level, and who will be the future of the club.” ---------------------- Bit worried by the quotes in that...suggests that Poyet isnt after another left back for cover...
SUNDERLAND are competing to sign experienced Cameroon international midfielder Jean Makoun, 31, from Rennes for around £1m. Published 25th November 2014
Not a rumour but a player I think we should be looking at is MaManaman from Wigan. This is their last season with parachute payments and they aren't gonna get promoted, so wheelan may be tempted to cash in
It's been suggested in the press that Sunderland will make a move for a winger in the New Year, and Galatasaray's Bruma was widely expected to Poyet's top target. Yet according to the Daily Mirror, there's another name on his radar - Ajax's Danish international Lasse Schone.
Chelsea set to recall unhappy Everton winger Christian Atsu and loan him to Sunderland CHELSEA are furious with the lack of first-team appearances Christian Atsu has received at Everton, and are threatening to recall him in January. Published: 15:11, Sun, November 30, 2014By JAMIE ANDERSON Christian AtsuGETTY Chelsea want Christian Atsu to receive more game time at Everton The Ghanaian winger has played just 70-minutes worth of Premier League football for the Toffees, failing to impress both the supporters and Roberto Martinez with some very mediocre performances. Atsu has pace, trickery and ability going forward, but frequently loses the ball in key areas, and fails to match any of Everton's other creative midfielders. The West Londoners are therefore keen on recalling the 21-year-old and sending him to Gus Poyet's Sunderland, where he has a greater chance of establishing himself as a first-team player. Everton fans were hoping Atsu would replicate the success they had with Barcelona starlet Gerard Deulofeu - who often dazzled and contributed in their march to fifth-place. Martinez has been linked with forward targets such as Breel-Donald Embolo, Lewis MacLeod, Joel Campbell and Andre Ayew - however funds are tight for the Toffees after their £28m record signing of Romelu Lukaku.
SUNDERLAND have again been linked with a loan move for Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah. Egyptian international Salah was one player mooted as a possible alternative to main target Fabio Borini during the summer and while he is understood to have been an option considered by Sunderland, that interest didn’t develop into anything significant. But Salah has only started twice for Chelsea this season and Jose Mourinho is keen for the 22-year-old to play regular first-team football out on loan. Reports today have credited Sunderland, QPR, Everton and Stoke with interest in Salah, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in an £11million move from Swiss side Basel last January. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...rland-linked-to-11m-chelsea-forward-1-6983110

Well, if we are offering Connor 60k a week it wouldn't surprise me if the club don't even take how ****e he's been into account and lodge the same bid again. Fact is I wouldn't even bid 5m for him now but you know they'll be a big fat 12million bid from us.
