As I said before, I couldn't see much happening unless someone we wanted to sign before became available. We are not facing relegation (which is a real imperative). We may feel that a few players are needed to maintain the push for a CL place, but I can't see Saints panicking. Better to spend any money wisely in the summer. What Les said doesn't rule out some activity though.

The thing I feel we should be wary of is not showing ambition to the existing players (Snidders, Toby A, Ryan etc)
If they see that the club is happy to finish circa 8th every year, most of them will move on to the clubs with the ambition and we will be back where we were last summer. Not a place I want to revisit to be honest

I don't know why people take anything anybody in football says at face value players/managers/owners it is more often than not the case that they just say anything that gets the best reaction when speaking to the media, whether it is true or not.

Not really, I would rather play a youngster. A poor player not available even with people injured is still a poor player not being available. Which means he will still play poor even if our whole team are out. A player that adds nothing (apart from looking unbalanced all the time) can not be missed.

 

How would people feel about persuading Arsenal to loan us Lucas Podolski?? Seems very much a fringe player at Arsenal these days and dearly wants a regular starting place - might be well worth a punt and I am sure could do a valuable job for us. Might bring the best out of Pelle!!!!!
