    Petrol pumps in garages delivering 2-stroke. Last one I remember was an Esso garage on Anlaby Road halfway between HRI and Park St bridge, Corner of Peel St maybe?

    Anyone remember the stop press in HDM and Sports mail.

    Getting paid cash in your pay packet, no cheques or plastic to be seen, No Bank Accounts. National anthem at midnight and the white dot. Plastic strip on your telly with three colours on it so it looked like you had a colour telly .... We had a 50p slot for everything in our house gas, electric & telly.

    <cheers>

    Portman road was the best,still is to be fair but things move on. Boothferry Parks surface,combined with its unique 6 pylons illumination,pissed all over most 'First division' clubs at the time.

    Trust me on this one..

    Those dickheads who think a clapped out Mondeo/Citroen AX/Vauxhall Nova/Ford Fiesta with a bit of plastic stuck to the bottom of it is a "well nice car". Just so I can laugh at them all over again. They used to meet in Maccy D's car park at St Andrew's Quay, busting out Scooter, Tim Westwood and anything else that constitutes ear-rape.

    That and Huckleberry's at the top of Prince's Quay. That used to be my whole Saturday sorted; top deck of Prinny Quay, sausage, chips and copius cigarettes at Huck's, then to Queen's gardens with all the other hoody wearing teenagers. Then White Room, then Spiders. I miss White Room more than any other pub. Dram shop gives it a good go on a Saturday, but it's not the same.

    Fiddling Hull Corporation Telephones call box to listen to I Got You Babe by Sonny and Cher around mid nineteen sixties. Can you imagine today's kids going to a phone kiosk and paying (or fiddling) to listen to a song?

    Mind, my grandfather was alive for the introduction of automobiles, aircraft and also mans landing on the moon.
