I was in the bookies with Coney yesterday evening and well.....Retribution will be forthcoming Kemps.
I liked Robertson and Brady operating on the same side. I thought they did it to reasonable effect and there was some decent play. Makes an alternative to always relying on Elmohamady to come up with the goods.
--------McGregor Rosey Dawson Chester Robertson Elmo Livermore Huddlestone Brady ----------Aluko ---------Jelavic I think Hernandez will start on the bench.
Surprised to see so many tickets available for this one, if we don't sell out at £16 it really will be the final nail in allams coffin.
He didn't let anyone down. If you expected him to be anything other than an incredibly talented winger with no desire to track back or play in a position which does not suit him then you are a fool. It's not like he has changed. Bruce should have known what he was when we signed him and he should only have played him if he was prepared to do it properly.
i agree this was a Brucie smoke screen I prefer the idea of using Brady and robertson but theres no real logical reason to drop Quinn and Meyler who came in and did all that was asked .
I'd also agree with that line up. Aluko deserves the start after his performance against Everton...not only the goal but his overall energy and movement and he showed some Lokeren-style moves down the left wing. Hernandez could be a second half sub along with Quinnie for Thudd or Brady. Meyler did well and brought energy with his runs from midfield but like Macca is mistake prone...vis that awful attempted clearance near the end. I think we're ready for a convincing win and a continued more aggressive strategy from MF.
We need a performance akin to the first half that we had against spur's but for 90mins, WBA have this game down as a must win game for them, we need to get on top quick and stay there.
Cant agree with dropping the lads from last night. Wont help morale at all. Same team that played for most of the game, with Aluko in for Diame.
Forget about sentiment, if we play a similar team to last night because they did alright (still gash for 45 minutes) this opportunity will pass us by. It's horses for courses, we're in dire need of both 3 points and a performance to boost confidence, to do that we need to go out and attack not play a defensive game with four central midfielders putting in a shift against one of the leagues weaker sides at home.
That's bang on what I'd go with but it is harsh on Quinn and Meyler, so wouldn't be surprised to see at least one of them start, with either Brady, Robertson or Rosie sacrificed.
If Meyler is out then I would also go for this team, if Meyler is OK, maybe he will go on the left instead of Brady.
