so where do you think we'll finish next year

as we're the biggest club in the division and after the signings made on Friday (and the imminent arrivals of Brown and Lee) i think we will walk the league next year.

hessysblu, why are you so convinced brown and lee are our players???..would love for that to be the case, but what makes you so sure? be truthful!!

 

Not enough fire power, mid table or on the edge of the play offs.

Have to be aiming automatic, one more striker and we should do it, Kedwell will score 20+

 

with another decent stiker and flitney proving to be a top goalkepper that he is projected to be (unless we bring in another gk) then i think we should certainly get promoted. whether we win the league or not will depend on whether we have our obligatory drop in form at some point

 

Unless we get in a proven striker then midtableish as not enough fire power at mo!!

 

If you look at the players Hess has got in, along with what we have, it looks pretty obvious to me that he'll be going with 1 up top next season. Kedwell will be that man and i guess that he may bring in someone else for cover.

If you remember it worked well when Bayo had a knock and Cody did it for a while. But also anyone who saw Lee and Whelpdale play, knew what they were about, going beyond the strikers to net themselves, Barnet away being the ideal example, the big man Bayo was instrumental for them doing this, hence the signing of Kedwell who is as strong as on ox. With 1 up top it gives them both a lot more space to go work with and I think this will be Hessy's plan.

So I wouldn't expect a 'top striker' to sign, but maybe just some cover and potentially someone who's been around the block a bit. Either way my prediction is that if we hit the ground running, we will be top 7 by the end of the season.

 

With these signings i can't help but be optimistic and say autos or at least going up through the play offs UTG!

as good as frampton is i'd rather he wasnt playing 2 positions at once, nut thats just me

I'm a little suprised so many think Kedwell (and Birchall if he joins) will do well. At the end of the day, he has still come from non-league. And we all know what happened the last time that happened under Stimson...

 

In Lee you have a great player. Always gives 100% and can play anywhere in midfield and across the back four. Championship was just a level to high for him as proven a couple of years ago. Whelpdale on his day top player, trouble is he didn't have too many good days over the last couple of seasons, but definitely a good league 2 player.

I think kedwell will net about 15 which is pretty decent, i reckon some of our midfield will contribute a few goals aswell but i'd like to see another striker to add more goal scoring potential to the squad or see s.payne given a chance

 

with money looking well spent anything but promotion would be failure as long as we can get another striker.

 

im thinking 1st if we get birchall and brown but 2nd or 3rd if not .
