Boro Gully will be getting aroused........

http://www.footballtransfertavern.c...ransferTavern (The Transfer Tavern Home Page)

The Mirror have excited Newcastle United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening.

This is after it emerged that Magpies boss Alan Pardew is eyeing Burnley’s Danny Ings for a cut-price January fee as the former AFC Bournemouth man’s contract expires at the end of the season.

Rather interestingly, the Toon Army will be facing Ings in the Premier League fixture against Burnley this evening.

The 22-year-old has been subject to a lot of speculation in the tavern recently and it is believed that with his contract running down, he is available for a measly £3 million.

The Magpies are supposedly topping the list of interested clubs and if Newcastle choose not to pay a fee in the window, Ings is eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement next month meaning he would agree to join the club at the end of the season for free.

Pardew said: “In Ings they have a player who is impressing at the moment.

“We get linked with all sorts of players, I don’t know if he’s been linked with us but we certainly haven’t bid or made an offer for him in a previous window.

“He’s a Burnley player and I think they would find it disrespectful that you would ask that question.”

Professional response from Pardew. Now Harry would have said "Yeah we're interested, we've made a bid, the lad is all over it and I'm sure we'll get some thing done. I don't like talking about other players though"

I'd love to see him here. One of many needed though.

Would prefer Austin, however there will be 9 or 10 clubs after Austin should QPR get relegated, the transfer fee will be high for this reason, Ings is out of contract in the summer and I think he's a very good player who will be suited to Pardew's style of play.

Seems like a decent player and actually a good guy. His efforts for the disabled in Burnley really endeared him to me. It was clear he was actually doing it because he wanted to rather than a sense of obligation.

    Indeed.

Now maybe if he were called Danny Rings...

I think mrt might also want Cesc Fabbigass & Danny Higginbottom.

I think either Ings or Austin would be a good buy. Like both players although haven't seen a lot of either player but the little bit I've seen live looks good. Of the two Austin probably shades it which probably means we'll go for Ings.

    "Ings move afoot?"

Why would we only buy his foot? Is he that good?

I have heard that he's head and shoulders above the rest.

    <cheers>

Maybe we're looking to buy the wrong part?

He's a decent athlete all right, but will Ashley foot the bill? Which little piggy are we going to take to market to pay for him?

You never know, Mike might shoe some ambition and bid for him to give us a better platform to progress from. He might try to slipper cheeky bid in. Although I have a sneakery feeling heel kick that idea into touch. As for "which piggy?" you can probably flipper coin for it.

I'll get me coat - I have a trainer to catch.
