HAHAHA we both know who's the fool here and the angry one, I'm just enjoying this now. And make me look like a foul, we got the 3 points tonight, that's all that matters.
Meh .. Welbeck and Giroud could have put us 2-0 up long before then if it wasn't for the brilliant saves from Forster. Your injuries were bad luck, but we've had half of our first team out this season, so that's the way the cookie crumbles mate
Walcott, Ozil, Wilshere, Arteta, Debuchy, Shezny, Ospina, Diaby, all out today. Just for the record, that's our number 1 AND number 2 GK, and our captain out.
I'm talking about the Yoshida tackle. And he didn't 'clearly win the ball' - they got there at the same time and Yoshida was pretty physical. I wouldn't have given the penalty personally because you want to see physicality in the game but when you go into a challenge like that, you give the referee a decision to make. Anyway, it's pointless debating penalties that never were. I thought Southampton did well considering how depleted their side are but we were also toothless until Giroud came on. On the balance of play, Southampton might feel unlucky not to have snatched the draw but they didn't show enough to win it. Pelle was only effective when he was in offside positions!
Of course we can. We haven't been convincing, but what is looking good is that we've kept 3 clean sheets in our last three games. We can always score at least 1 goal in a game, so if we keep it tight at the back then we can win away at Stoke.
I personally thought pelle was poor, other saints fans think differently. We have no replacement so none of our players have been rested over the past few months.
Stoke have been pretty leaky in defence recently. Mame Diouf is a big threat though - the kindof player we struggle against.
Enjoy it while it lasts, we both know it won't, just last week it was 9 points, in the space of a week it's gone from 9 to 3 points. You guys don't have what it takes to last a whole season.
You are right mate we haven't got the squad depth you lot have so injuries are going to scupper us. We made your lot look ordinary for all the game until we went down to 10 men, but hey that's the way it goes.
We really miss Walcott's pace and invention on the wing. We tried to play everything through the middle tonight and Soton lined up with two banks of four when we went forward, which meant we ended up passing around the edge of the area probing for an opening. What Walcott offers is those brilliant diagonal runs in behind the lines which pulls the LB and CB completely out of position and allows our forwards to get into empty space in the box to fire home.
And hopefully we will have key players back too as well, we had 8 players missing today, . So stick your injury excuse where the sun don't shine, it is a fact we have suffered more injuries than anybody this season, I think United might be the only team even with us, so pissss offf with your injury moaning, the last time you should complain to about injuries is Arsenal.
Having Kos and Debuchy back will make big difference, it will give us a chance to rest Chambers and rotate some players. We've kept 3 clean sheets now too and won 3 on the bounce. I've said it time and again, but we are a confidence team. When we get a couple of wins under our belts we can go on a long run. The fact that we've won 3 and we have players coming back from injury bodes really well for the rest of the season. I think Walcott will make the biggest impact of those coming back, you can't underestimate what he offers to this team.
So let me get this straight. You're actually saying that only 3 of your regular first IX played in this match? Three? So your excuse for not winning 5-0 (as your entitled to do obviously) is that you only played 3 of the main team? BTW, teams who hoover up loads of players in order to have big squads, tend to have more injured players. Go figure, Brightness. Ospina........
