The two things that stand out are that we're unable to hold our nerve against teams we view as big, and that Chelsea are superior enough they would have won in any case. I still think the players are good, but they lack belief.
Don't worry HIAG I agree with you. I think it's good to have these boards to vent frustration otherwise I would be in a very bad mood! You have to admit Chelsea are a class apart this season though. City are the only team who will give them token competition for the league.
It would be nice if you did something that could be described as supporting. Why do we need posters from other teams coming on here criticising us when you can do a better job than them. But all you can do is criticise, WUM and be sarcastic.
Why does anyone think we ought to be as good as Chelsea who have spent about twice as much as us on their squad.?
Support ought not to be undying, unthinking obedience, and a continual settling for the utter ****e that has passed for football at Spurs. You might be supportive of that, and I am glad to inform you that I am not. If you don't like my comments, don't read them. It's very simple. I can read your comments and not make a personal attack on you, notwithstanding the fact that, half the time, I find your comments completely mundane and obsequious to the point of nauseousness.
For ****'s sake. Alderweireld goes off injured and they score with seconds to go. Typical. Really **** round of results for us.
well that was a really bad round of results... on a side note...are the goons now a one man team with sanchez?
Actually it appears you have no idea what it is to be a supporter. I wonder where you would have been in our relegation season! And having said you wouldn't make a personal attack, you go and do it anyway. I guess you can't help yourself. And I suppose you will also want the last word, which you may have as I can't be bothered wasting any more time replying to you.
2 goals against the run of play and a moment of stupidity from Lloris let Chelsea win comfortably. Disappointing how little we created in the second half as we dominated it but unfortunately when Chelsea don't make any real effort to attack and sit everyone back on the edge of the area there aren't many that can break them down. Still some positives we can take away and I'm sure we'll win far more than we lose playing like we have in the last couple of games. That's our 2 toughest games this season out of the way too, hopefully we can sort out our poor performances in the games we should be winning soon and get back on track.
My thoughts exactly Yid, we have seen how a couple of wins can move a team up a few places. Tonight I was at least hoping for a consolation but Kane now does concern me a little more.
Could be worse. Rangers were 2-0 up against Alloa tonight in a cup semi-final and lost 3-2. Hope nobody had that as part of an accumulator. That was a poor performance against a very efficient and effective Chelsea side. Lamela was a mistake, the shape was wrong and we never looked like getting back into the game after going behind. Lloris had an awful game. Some heads went down and we didn't create anything when chasing the game. Pochettino needs to make a couple of changes against Palace, but I'd actually like to see him persist with that back four. The centre-halves and the left-back need to stay in, at least.
I hate, hate losing to Chelsea, almost more than any other team out there. Its just something about them, but its happened again. They're streets ahead of us and probably the rest of the league too (except maybe City) and it showed in the way they took their chances. We had enough possession and chances to make an impact but thats what Russian Oil money and Jose Mourinho will get you - deadly efficiency when it matters most. We weren't good at times today but we have plenty to take forward. We created a fair bit against an unbeaten Chelsea team and were undone at the back as much by individual errors as anything else. While thats disappointing it doesn't necessarily reflect on the overall performance, it does show that mistakes were made by one or two players at key moments in the game. If we can apply the positive aspects of that game against Palace then we'll do well. I also thought Bentaleb was impressive again and is going to be a very, very good player indeed in 5 or 6 years time. Its also worth noting that a lot of their best play came down Chiriches's side IMO, and that although he's been a marginal improvement on Dier in that position he did struggle at times and I still can't wait to have Walker back there - assuming he doesn't come back and play like ****e that is of course. We were simply beaten by a far, far better team than us, who took advantage of nearly every mistake we made, and we need to improve more in our defensive game and our ability to be clinical if we are going to have a winning chance against the better teams in the league.
