http://exiledrobin.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/steve-cotterill-what-difference-year.html As always a very good and well balanced; piece about Steve Cotterill's first year.
As always, a very well created biopsy of SC's first year in charge highlighting some of the traits of our latest manager and where those personality issues have taken us in our rebuild. If I look back over the last 5 years or so I think our track record on hiring replacement managers has been pretty poor, if not dismal, but you have to ask the age old question as to whose fault is it that we ended up in such a mess? The question of fault seems to have disappeared from the radar, thank goodness, and let's put it to rest until such time as it seems appropriate to raise it again. For the first time in many seasons I have found renewed confidence in what is happening down at Ashton Gate and eagerly await the results of our efforts in the desire to return to a higher level of the game. Looking in from so far away makes me believe that the ship has been righted and the squad bolstered in most areas allowing us to go with the flow and absorb any necessary changes in formation to accommodate injuries and the like. Egos seem to have been vanquished from the dressing room only to be replaced by a "all for one" mentality which is light years ahead of some previous regimes and the outfall from those days were very evident on the pitch and echoed by the poor results and attitude. Times have changed and we are now back on course to regain our Championship status but a lot of work and effort will be required during the dark days of winter if our long suffering supporters are to receive a spring bonus and a wonderful summer of anticipation. Next Tuesday I leave for my 3 month winter break in the Canary Islands and my postings will become rarer and so I take this early opportunity to wish all my fellow 606ers a very Happy Christmas and, along with Bristol City FC, an extremely prosperous New Year.
Now now you two colonials! Behave or we'll get you both transported to Australia, the land of the Lesser Spotted Kilkenny, a kind of Jackass.
