Good Morning Everyone, 72 hours after being disqualified by the football league from running Leeds Utd, Cellino has come back fighting. Cellino says not only will he appeal the decision but he will plough on with his investment into Leeds, including buying back Elland Road. "I will respect everything but I am going to appeal and show them that they are wrong," he said. "If I am not allowed to run the club I will buy a ticket and sit with the fans but I am not going to run away." "I'm surprised so much energy and so much money has been wasted to run after something that is not just," he said. "If I walk away it means that I am a dishonest person. I am not a dishonest person. I will fight to the last degree to protect the principle that I'm not dishonest. "It is not the fault of the League but the fault of the lawyers, they've made a big mistake and we are wasting time for nothing. We are not walking away. "Everyone is against Leeds, we have to fight against everything. "Who's looking after Leeds? People from Bahrain and people from Italy. Why don't English people look after the club? They should be ashamed. I come from Italy and I love this club more than someone from Britain." Tell ya what peeps, I love this bloke! Casper Sloth has not even made the bench in recent weeks, thanks to some brilliant displays from Adyran. What is everyone's opinion of the Dane? Are his days at Elland Road numbered? Chelsea U18's beat Leeds U18's in the final of the FA youth Cup last night. A first half penalty by Izzy Brown and a goal late on by Dom Solanke were enough to beat a determined Leedds side. Cellino was convicted of failing to pay import duty on a yacht but, under UK law, his conviction will be spent in March, meaning he would be free to return to his role then.
Good morning. Looks like we won't be out of the headlines for too long this season. Would love to see him find another loophole to beat the fl with again. It would be a very sad day if he ever does have to leave us
Morning Eire, Seeing that he can take the club back come Mar 18th whatever happens from today, I think it's just the FLs futile attempt to derail the club and keep us in this league so we can generate more cash for the smaller clubs whose grounds we fill and generate extra income for them.
Morning all - Bottom line is I don't know enough about the reasons why Cellino has failed the test, we knew it might happen and it has. He can walk back in once we reach March and I don't believe it is an issue, just an inconvenience. I am more worried that we might find ourselves with an extra punishment for the non disclosure issue, guess we shall have to wait and see. I know people don't like any kind of Cellino bashing but I did wonder about this claim of £20m cash injection and where it was going to be spent. Again now I see Cellino has promised to buy the ground back, I find it strange that he is meeting with GFH in order to obtain this cash injection, again I guess it is wait and see time.
Agreed shaks. Think its just a face saving exercise by them. Theyll have been seen to insist on their daft fitness rule regardless of it only applying for a few weeks. Important thing for us is to continue momentum during the three months and not get distracted. We need to remember the calibre of player Cellino has brought in the likes of Adryan. Not in a million years would previous owners firstly have identified or found him and even if they did, they wouldnt have signed him
Makes perfect sense if you think about it Ristac. He said previously he wouldnt buy ground without gfh involvement as they benefit to the tune of 25% from buying it. He flies to wherever and gets them to stump up a large wad of the cash. I dont find that strange but sensible business
Morning all and what a ****ing marvelous day it is after yesterday's life changing moment when we exchanged contracts! Mortgage freedom here we come!!
I can't see it happening, GFH agreed a sale with him and he wants to renegotiate those terms. I remember asking how this ground purchase would work on day one stating how GFH would benefit if they were not putting in their 25% and several members on here said it happens in business and although GFH will own 25% of club they would own zero part of the ground.
Morning Eire, there are so many double standards with the football league, there should be an investigation
(As you well know) they're investing £5m (not £20m) and its not a loan, its an investment. But you know all that You should be a journalist
Interesting its the week he was due to make the final 6m payment to them. wouldnt mind betting money wont change hands in either direction as gfh have none. Cellino will hold back the 6m, and put it into the club as the gfh investment
Morning All, As I understand it, the primary reason for Cellino's trip out to see GFH was to get them to sign off the agreement drawn up after his forensic accountant uncovered undeclared dodgy doings that should have affected the takeover purchase price. He made it quite clear that he could not procede with ER's purchase until this signoff was complete. From what I heard him say, it looks like they've signed it off, enabling him to put finance in place to effect the ER purchase & move us forward. He seemed more upbeat on the telly about this than he has for some time (which was nice to see). So, bottom line - GFH have been put in their place & we move on.
Morning ristac, You're right as long as there are no ramifications on Cellino returning in March. Does anyone know whether we have had clarification on this
